Bonnie & Clyde.
Clyde & Bonnie.
No wait, it’s always, Bonnie & Clyde, isn’t it? Yep. The glamorous, Depression-era duo is getting a new cinematic take next week. It’s a big event when three (!) networks air the same show at the same time!
Lifetime, A&E and History will all be airing the new original movie Bonnie & Clyde. Packed with up-and-coming new talent and veteran Oscar winners, it’s an enjoyable look at one of the original reality stars.
Part of the folklore about the Barrow gang mentions that Clyde Barrow (Emile Hirsh) may have been able to see the future which is how he was able to stay ahead of the law. This story begins with Clyde having a vision of
Bonnie in his dreams.
The first time they meet is when Clyde crashes a wedding for the booze and glimpses the lovely bride – Bonnie Parker (Holliday Granger).
Fast forward and Bonnie’s husband has deserted her so Clyde begins to court her. Down on his luck after a life of petty crimes with his brother, Buck Harrow (Lane Garrison), Clyde is caught and thrown in jail. Bonnie helps to break him out and suddenly they need to commit a little crime to help get by.
A little snowballs into a lot and the pair get launched into history. A reporter named PJ Lane (Elizabeth Reaser) starts to follow their story since it features a woman committing these crimes. Since Bonnie was an aspiring actress, this glitzy run accompanied by headlines appeals to her. Pretty soon, the glamorous pair make consistent headlines as they stay ahead of the law.
With strong chemistry between the leads who are fabulously styled, it’s a fun ride with able support from Sarah Hyland (Modern Family) as Buck’s girlfriend Blanche, Holly Hunter as Bonnie’s mother, Dale Dickey as Clyde’s mother and William Hurt as Texas Ranger Frank Hamer, the law man tracking them down.
This tale of Bonnie & Clyde begins on December 8th and concludes on the 9th on Lifetime, A&E and History.
