The bad news is, my winning streak has ended. The good news is, my man Hugh is the one who put a stop to it. His R-rated adult thriller Prisoners came in at number one with $21.4 million.

Insidious 2 fell to the number two spot, but still scared up another $14.5 million.

Robert DeNiro’s dark comedy The Family held strong and only fell one position to number three.

The indie hit Instructions not Included climbed up to positions to number four, taking in $5.7 million.

Battle of the Year managed to break in at number five with $5 million, which was more than anyone thought it was going to do.

We’re the Millers is now at an impressive $138 million total domestic gross after seven weeks of release at the number six spot.

At number seven was Lee Daniel’s The Butler which took another $4.3 million. Next up, The Oscars!

After such a big opening just 3 weeks ago, Riddick fell blindly to the number eight spot.

The release of The Wizard of Oz in 3D and IMAX took in just $3 million in the number nine spot. Let’s leave well enough alone Hollywood.

Rounding out the top ten was Disney’s Planes, which took in $2.8 million.
