Box Office Breakdown! Guardians Stays On Top! TMNT Is Second! If I Stay Sticks! And More!
Well, Ryan B. owes me another shout out. Guardians of the Galaxy was indeed the number one movie this weekend. The mega hit grabbed another $10.1 million, bringing its domestic total to an astounding $294.5 million. This week is almost an exact duplicate of last week’s box office.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles kept their spot at number two with $6.5 million and a domestic total of $174.6 million. They can buy a lot of pizza with those numbers.
If I Stay held its spot at number three with $5.7 million. Looks like this teen drama is sticking around for a bit.
Let’s Be Cops moved up a spot to number four with $5.4 million. With a modest budget of $17 million, this R rated comedy’s profit amount is criminal.
The November Man also moved up a spot to number five with $4.2 million, but with a domestic total of just $17.8 million, this action thriller is a bit frosty.
As Above So Below slipped to number six with $3.3 million. This found footage horror flick should have stayed underground.
When the Game Stands Tall held its spot at number seven with $3.7 million and a domestic total of $23 million. This movie should never have been drafted.
The Giver got another $3.5 million, holding in the number eight spot. It’s a good thing this book is a stand-alone story because anyone hoping for a movie sequel would have been forced to read!
The Hundred Foot Journey held its spot at number nine with $3.2 million. With a budget of just $22 million, and a domestic total of $45.6 million, that’s a recipe for a modest hit.
Lucy rounded out the top ten, climbing up a spot from last week and bringing its domestic total to $121 million!

Gettin’ called out by Fangirl. BAM DIGGITY!
Not a hard one this week though. Dolphin Tale 2? I’d rather have a chlorine colonic.
Why you gotta rain on my parade Ryan B.? 🙂
I think DT2 looks like a pile o’crap, but the first one made $19 mil opening weekend. Don’t think No Good Deed will beat it.
We’ll see…
Hi Susan, great recap.
I know you like it, but I’m not a Dolphin Tale fan. I don’t find those movies interesting. Good luck though.
Thanks Danielle – I’m actually NOT a fan of the first Dolphin Tale, or the second. I just try to predict the winner. 🙂
