Box Office Breakdown! Hunger Games Number One! Penguins Number Two! Horrible Bosses Bombs!
Looks like Katniss and I both hit the bulls eye. The Hunger Games was number one again this week, taking in $56.8 million for a domestic total of $225.6 million!
Fans flocked to Penguins of Madagascar, which opened at number two with $25.8 million for the weekend.
Big Hero 6 was only slightly deflated at number three with $18.7 million and a domestic gross of $167.2 million. Bay Max is finally seeing some profit.
Interstellar lost its glow, falling to number four with $15.8 million. Its domestic gross of $147 million is still light years behind its $165 million budget.
Horrible Bosses 2 was fired, opening at number five with just $15.7 million. That’s a far cry from its predecessor’s $117 million domestic gross.
Dumb and Dumber To wasn’t too sharp at number six with $8.2 million. You don’t have to be a genius to figure out a third installment isn’t going to happen.
The Theory of Everything got a huge boost, moving up three spots to number seven with $5 million more for this Awards season favorite.
Gone Girl was still around at number eight with $2.4 million and a domestic gross of $160 million after
nine weeks in release.
Birdman flapped its wings and stayed at number nine with $1.8 million.
Rounding out the top ten was St. Vincent, the indie charmer, who took in $1.7 million added to its domestic gross of $39.2 million.

Oh the Hunger Games is doing well. Susan, I’m glad to see that. Are you glad to see it? I’m very happy. I want that last movie made.
I loved all of the HG movies, but haven’t seen this one yet – probably this coming weekend.
