Box Office Breakdown! Think Like A Man Too Tops! Jersey Boys Flops! And More!

I’ve got quite a losing streak going here. 3 weeks in a row now. I let sentiment rule over logic. Think Like a Man Too opened in the top spot with $30 million, which was actually $3 million less than its predecessor.

22 Jump Street dropped a spot to number two with $29 million and a domestic total of $111 million in just two weeks.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 slipped to number three with $25.3 million. Its worldwide gross of $171.4 million is making up for its huge $145 million budget.

Jersey Boys hit a sour note, opening at number four with just $13.5 million. Ain’t That a Shame. That’s a Four Seasons song by the way.

Maleficent still has some magic at number five with $13 million. Its worldwide gross has hit $521 million. Those comic book heroes got nothing on Angelina!

Edge of Tomorrow fell to number six with $10.3 million. Its domestic gross may only be $74.5 million, but worldwide, this sci-fi thrill ride has nabbed $218.3 million for a total gross of $292.8 million.

The Fault in our Stars is still twinkling at number seven with $8.6 million and a domestic gross of $98.7 million.

X-Men: Days of Future Past battled to stay in the top ten at number eight with $6.2 million. After five weeks in release, its worldwide gross has reached $692 million. The world loves mutants.

Chef was tasty this week, climbing up a spot to number nine with $1.8 million. This little indie has become a favorite on the movie menu.

Rounding out the top ten was Godzilla with $1.8 million. Its domestic gross has reached $195 million. I’m sure Warner Bros. are hard at work on a sequel.
