The Secret Life of Pets was out in the open at number one with $103.1 million.
The Legend of Tarzan held strong at number two with $20.6 million.
Finding Dory floated to number three with $20.3 million.
Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates needed ticket sales, opening at number four with $16.6 million.
The Purge Election Year was voted to number five with $11.7 million.
Central Intelligence was smart, holding at number six with $8.1 million.
Independence Day: Resurgence was alienated to number seven with $7.7 million.
The BFG was pretty small at number eight with $7.6 million.
The Shallows survived at number nine with $4.8 million.
Rounding out the top ten was Sultan with $2.2 million.
