Box Office Breakdown! Hobbit Slays The Competition! Unbroken And Into The Woods Are Hits! Imitation Game Climbs!

Well, I’ve started off 2015 with a win. The Hobbit was once again number one at the box office with $21.9 million and a domestic total of $220.7 in three weeks.

Coming in second place for a second week was Into the Woods, which conjured up $19 million.

In a case of deja vu, Unbroken stayed at number three with $18.3 million and a domestic total of $87 million.

The Woman in Black 2 opened at number four with a mediocre $15.1 million and just slightly behind its predecessor.

Night at the Museum 3 continued to not make history at number five with $14.4 million.

Annie is still having a life of hard knocks at number six with $11.4 million and a domestic total of $72 million.

The Imitation Game made a move and climbed up a spot to number seven with $8.1 million.

The Hunger Games Mocking Jay Part 1 continued a steady slip to number eight with $7.7 million and a massive domestic total of $323.8 million.

The Gambler took its licks at number nine after just two weeks in release with $6.3 million.

Rounding out the top ten was Big Hero 6 who climbed up a spot from last week with $4.8 million.
