My Buffy Birthday! Visiting The Filming Locations Of Buffy The Vampire Slayer! Sunnydale High! Buffy’s House! American Horror Story! And More!
It’s the day of my birth! Well… It was the day of my birth, lol…
I had a bunch of cool things happen, the China Beach reunion, hanging out with friends, etc… Sunday, my friend Scott and I were going to head out and celebrate when to my surprise MTF’ers Karalee and Anushika showed up… Wha?
It turns out we were going to do a little drive around to Buffy The Vampire Slayer filming locations! What a nice surprise!
Our first stop was going to be the cemetery (or so I was told) but we couldn’t get there because there was a parade, or celebration going on… Grumble…
But onwards and upwards!
Our first stop was the frat house in Buffy The Vampire Slayer’s amazing Halloween episode Fear Itself! Yep, Bunny Anya!
You might remember the house more prominently being used in the first season of American Horror Story.
It looks exactly the same in person and is ginormous!
If you’re in the LA Area check it out… Remember this is a private residence so be considerate.
Even the path in front was used as the gang trick or treated.
I may have had the crew recreate the scene. lol…
Lindsey from I Am Not A Stalker did a stunning recap of the house! Check it out!
The address is
1120 Westchester Place in Country Club Park
Then we headed to Buffy’s House! Swoon!
The front of the house has been altered into some rather overgrown shrubbery. But it’s still BTVS appropriate!
I couldn’t resist taking some of my prop stakes and Karalee and Anushika were more than happy to try and dust me. lol…
The house is located at 1313 Cota Drive in Torrance. Again, it’s a private house so don’t trespass.
The neighbors house was also used in the series most notably in What’s My Line? where the bug man sells cosmetics.
Then we ran around the corner to the High School! Sunnydale high (Or West Beverly from 90210) live in person!
2200 W. Carson Street is where the high school is located. The front is amazing as usual. We got tons of photos!
Including the front steps where Xander falls in the pilot!
And then we were able to go inside… We found the steps which were used prominently in Graduation Day, etc…
But…
Here’s where I get devastated….
It seems the famed courtyard where countless episodes were shot… Is under a massive renovation… The staircase is gone… LIKE GONE!
It looks lie the end of Graduation Day after the mayor destroyed the place.
To say, I was bummed was an understatement. Sigh…
Karalee shared my pain…
The side park was also used in several episodes and the walkway as well.
The walkway was used a lot in Buffy and 90210!
We had one final stop. At Foster’s Freeze!
This was where some of the big fight scenes were shot in season one of Buffy, most notably episode seven!
We had a blast and thanks again to Scott for putting it all together and Karalee and Anushika for surprising me!
On the way home we even spotted a Back to the Future replica Dolorean! You can’t get much more Fanboy Birthday than that right?
Until next time kids…
