Fanboy Fail Friday! Cate Blanchett Ignores Six Waiting Fans After Arriving To A Q And A 45 Minutes EARLY! But Elisabeth Moss Is Awesome!
It’s Fanboy Fail Friday!
Now, I’m a huge… I was a huge fan of Cate Blanchett. She’s been in some of the best films Elizabeth, Notes on a Scandal, Lord of the Rings, etc…
Scotty, Billy and I headed out to try and meet Cate. Now, she’s never been the most fan friendly, but you never know right?
Cate was having a q and a for her film Truth which also stars Elisabeth Moss.
Both stars were at the q and a tonight. When we arrived no one else was here, and gradually a couple more people showed.
Six… Six people. That’s it.
When Cate arrived… she got there 45 minutes early… EARLY!
When she got out of the car, she refused to look at us, she put her head down and wouldn’t even acknowledge us. Boom. That’s it.
Billy was so sad, he was calling for her even as she sat inside with the door closed.
It was shocking, and I don’t know why. Was it there there were only six fans waiting? Was it the fact that she just flippantly refused to acknowledge out existence, but let me tell ya, it was super disappointing.
In contrast, Elisabeth Moss arrived, they closed the gate on us and she ran right over and said, “You guys are behind that gate, you all look like your in prison!” And then she came around and signed everything we had, took photos, and was quite simply adorable.
How much do I love Elisabeth Moss? A lot.
Then on the way out, Cate Blanchett bolted. I know… Shocking.
Wow… All I can say.. Wow.

I had no problem with her stopping for us after her excruciatingly exhausting Streetcar performance, but even if she didn’t stop, I wouldn’t have bitched about it. As a fan, I know she’s not a person comfortable with fan signings so I adopt the attitude of maybe she will, maybe she won’t, but wouldn’t be butthurt by it. You people are so demanding & entitled when it comes to celebrities signing your eBay crap!

So, you collect autographs, yet you automatically assume that the 6 people waiting (of whom I was not one) are having “ebay crap” signed? Project much?
Personally I’m not involved and I wouldn’t bother going after Blanchett because she’s not very fan friendly. But your holier-than-thou attitude is far worse than anyone in the article’s was.

Met Elizabeth when she was on Broadway recently. It’s always touch and go with “tv and film” actors after a show. they dont seem to have the same connection to getting out and meeting fans as “theater” actors do. So I was MOST impressed with Elizabeth Moss. She was really sweet to everyone and spent real time chatting with fans and signing. Glad you had the same experience with her
