Out and about again. Erica and I are tag teaming up to finish our Friends cast pieces. We tried for Matt LeBlanc and failed of course… Sigh, you can read about that here on Mikethefanboy.com, but I have a good start. So, today one of our “Friends” Mr. Matthew Perry is doing a talk show appearance to promote his new ABC comedy Mr. Sunshine. Also on the bill is one of my favorites Ms. Morena Baccarin from the ill fated Joss Whedon creation Firefly. Sigh… Firefly… And Morena is also on “V” which is becoming a guilty pleasure for me as well.
4:43 p.m. – I just got here are there are like 8 people here. I’m shocked cause honestly I didn’t think anyone would be here. I have to say, I always forget what a huge show Friends still is. It’s iconic in so many ways, and it still has a giant following…
5:03 p.m. – There are a couple cool people here but not a lot of regulars, or the people I usually see…
5:11 p.m. – I’m not really sure if Matthew will come over. Matt LeBlanc certainly wasn’t very fan friendly so I’m not certain that Matthew Perry will be. Sigh…
5:24 p.m. – I do know that Morena Baccarin is super nice so I’m sure she will come over. She is incredible beautiful as well. Stunning…
5:35 p.m. – Oh the door is opening, someone is here! It’s Morena! Only myself and one other Joss Whedon devotee yell out… Morena smiles as she goes in. Ah well…
5:46 p.m. – Anushika, one of the nicest fans out there is here for Matthew Perry. I had to tell her all about the joys of Firefly. One fan at a time man, one fan at a time!
6:02 p.m. – It looks like the door is opening again… Oh, it’s Matthew… He is walking towards us, and we get a wave as he pops inside… okay… well… we are in for it. Another couple hours… sigh…
6:16 p.m. – Thankfully, we have good company! Whoo Hoo!
6:34 p.m. – Okay, now it’s getting cold. See you knew I would throw that in there right. Oh Lord the costumed crazy spider man is trying to make eye contact and make conversation with us…. Noooooooo……
6:43 p.m. – Have I mentioned what a giant Joss Whedon Angel/Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan I am. Huge, giant! Lol…. I’m looking at a 27 x 41 signed x 40 members of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer cast. Ahhhhh good times! Sarah Michelle Gellar is staring me at with her lovely hazel eyes….
6:47 p.m. – I’m a tad feverish as well… lol… I hate getting sick… I get super whiney… blech… and no one wants to hear me whine…
6:51 p.m. – Cause if you know someone that wants to hear me whine just give me their number… lol… Did I mention I’m delirious…? Sigh…
7:16 p.m. – Still no movement… I’m assuming Matthew Perry will come out first, cause he is the first guest, but one never really knows…
7:38 p.m. – Oh someone is leaving… It’s Morena Baccarin! A bunch of us yell for her and she seems like she is rushed. She runs over but does not do photos.
7:39 p.m. – I got her on my Firefly DVD and my V San Diego Comic Con promo poster as well. She was so sweet! And stunning, and I do mean stunning in person.
7:40 p.m. – Special thanks to Anushika for the photos of Morena, as I was trying to get a photo with her to no avail… Ah well…
7:54 p.m. – Matthew has to be done if Morena is done… Hmmmmm….
8:02 p.m. – Oh… Okay, here’s Matthew… Everyone is yelling for him. Holy crap there are like 40 people here now. Where do these people come from! Sigh…
8:04 p.m. – It looks like Matthew Perry is talking with his people if he should come over or not… Wait… Wait… Holy crap, he’s coming over!
8:05 p.m. – Matthew walks over and immediately starts signing for the fans. He’s not super outgoing, but he’s cool. Someone asks for a photo and he says, “I can’t do a photo with everyone.”
8:06 p.m. – He comes to me and signs my Friends piece and then I ask him to get Erica’s booklet. He says, “Oh the couch!” lol… And then signs one for her.
8:07 p.m. – Matthew Perry pretty much gets everyone and then starts walking back.
8:08 p.m. – I have the insert from a magazine for his new show, and as he’s walking by I ask him, “Matthew would you mind signing the Mr. Sunshine insert?” He stops and comes over and signs it and then says, “Will you be watching.” I tell him, I will cause I thought the previews looked really good. He smiled and then took off.
You can’t really ask for more. Matthew was very nice and came over right away. The same for Morena Baccarin she was super sweet, and I’m sure next time I’ll be able to get a photo with her! All in all a great night!
