Game Of Thrones San Francisco Premiere! Nikolaj Coster-Waldau! Peter Dinklage! Sophie Turner! Alfie Allen! And More!

Game of Thrones is a cultural phenomenon. The premiere for the new season was held in San Francisco and MTF Reader and all around awesome dude, Russell headed down to fanboy the event.

Game of Thrones had their US Premiere in San Francisco at the War Memorial Opera House last week and since we don’t get many of these events up here it was great to see. I guess we should be lucky being the tech capital of the world that we had this event because of Apple, Facebook and Instagram presence.

The set up was not too great for “fan access” and basically you had to “hope” anyone would hop over some ropes and go to the fan area.

Really the only one that did that was Kit Harrington. Everyone else just pretty much waved no matter if their name was chanted or not.

Some of the cast were great and stood on the balcony and took pictures of the fans.

I can say we saw everyone on the list arrive.

So once the event started it was trying our luck at the after party which was really close by across the street at the Civic Center. Only really about 8 of us trying to get autographs and the rest waiting were folks trying to get pictures.

Around 9:15pm or so the SUV’s start arriving and won’t go into all the arrivals but pretty much everyone came over to sign except Maisie Williams (who said she would do it on the way out, but her and Emilia Clarke came out together and went right to car), Peter Dinklage, Natalie Emmanuel, Jerome Flynn, Carice and Aidan.

It was a great night as added a bunch to the poster (21) and was happiest to add Nikolaj and Sophie the most.

I think the most animated person was Ian Beattie as he engaged with the fans the most and was just happy to be there. I didn’t stay for all the departures once Maisie left, but heard Kit came over to sign a few and some others.
