Gwen Stefani Tells Scotty and I To Settle Down When We Meet Her and No Doubt! Autographs! Loss Of Breath! And More!

There are times when I don’t mind the crowds, the hustle the bustle and then there are times when I like a small intimate meeting. Scotty and I have been on the research hunt for quite a while to try and find out some info on the band No Doubt. Now, Scotty and I have been No Doubt fans for a long long time. So, with a bit of research on Twitter, social media and pap shots of the band we think we figured out where they band was finishing the recording of their new album.

Normally, I would shy away from something like this but have you tried to get No Doubt out and about… It’s madness! I’ll post my MTF Flashback in the next couple days, lol…

Anyway, Scotty figured out where they were recording and after work we headed down there. The nice thing was the studio was fairly accessible and in Santa Monica. We only have one or two things each and figured well… We will give it a shot.

I’m actually a tad shocked we were the only ones there. No Doubt tweets like mad when they are in the studio and in the digital age it’s not THAT hard to guess where people are, lol…

It’s a tad chilly but not bad. We’re just chilling out and catching up. There is literally no one else around. It’s not like we’re secluded but there’s parks around us and a few large buildings.

It’s actually odd that there is a small studio nestled in this area. lol… If you were driving by which a lot of people probably have you would have missed it!

After about an hour we spotted some movement. I clutched my Don’t Speak UK 7” picture disc which took me forever to find BTW…

Tony Kanal was coming out, so I was trying to be a brave little toaster and approach but then we spotted who he was with. Holy fuck my life, it’s GWEN! They were carrying green tupperware and walking to Gwen’s car. She was obviously the first to leave.

I’m actually shocked that we’re seeing Gwen Stefani in the flesh. I like I lost my breath, stop it Mike, Breathe! LOL…

We walked up rather sheepishly and asked if she would mind signing. Scotty said hi to Tony, but we didn’t ask him right away because of Gwen being there. lol… I mean you see Gwen Stefani and you have to get her first! Hello!

Gwen said “sure” She put her tupperware in the car and said, “I’ve gotta go, so we need to go fast.” Scotty got his cover of Elle Magazine signed and I asked Gwen to switch to silver for the picture disc, but again she said, “I’ve gotta go.” Then we thanked her and she popped in the car and was off.

Not a moment that I’m going to recall for the rest of my life, and not really a time to ask for a photo. But Gwen was nice enough to stop and the signatures came out really nice! Even in the blue the picture disc looked great.

We decided to wait a few more minutes to see if we could get the rest of the band. About 15 minutes later all three came out at the same time and literally were in their cars in seconds.

However we did manage to grab Tom Dumont who was happy to sign even if he was a tad shocked we found the recording studio. He asked, “How did…” I said, “Twitter!” He laughed, and was like, “Ah, okay.” It’s not like the paparazzi hasn’t shot Gwen here everyday. LOL…

Even though I only got two members of the band, I’m walking away really happy. It’s great when you can meet a band as big as No Doubt in a low key setting like this. Plus, once the picture disc gets finished it’s going to look amazing!

Scotty can’t stop smiling. Literally… He’s grinning ear to ear!
