What is that saying… Short and sweet is the best?
Something along those lines I suppose…
Last week, I headed out to meet the iconic Ione Skye. Now, some of you might not know who Ione Skye is, but she was the love interest in Say Anything… one of the best movies of all time and also in Gas, Food, Lodging which is an amazing film also starring Fairuza Balk.
Ione Skye was doing a rare q and a introducing a small screening of Gas, Food, Lodging and I wanted to go into the screening but by the time I heard about it, sold out! Damn!
So, I thought I would just wait outside and try to get my Say Anything… mini poster and my Gas, Food, Lodging mini poster signed.
Now, here’s where I wish the story was more interesting, I mean I was here in Hollywood waiting outside the theater and besides the usual mix of Hollywood Hipsters it was fairly normal.
I was talking to Suddenly Susan and while I wanted to make up a story about a young man named Leapfrog who kept jumping over the railing near me and screaming about how amphibians get a bad rap in the world, I just felt that Suddenly Susan had enough stories in the comment section of her Box Office Breakdown to warrant it.
Still… A story about a man named Leapfrog? Gold, I tell ya! GOLD!
I am hopped up on cold medicine right now, so what I find funny today, tomorrow I might think… Why the F did I write that?
About 15 minutes before the screening here comes Ione Skye. I hang up on Suddenly Susan just as she is about to tell me the secrets of the universe and approach Ione Skye.
Ione is so sweet and happy to sign. I told her I wanted to go to the screening but it was sold out. She was like, “it is?” I was like yep.
That was about it.
I was done, on the subway back to my car and home.
Simple, done and out.
Woo to the hoo…
Until next time kids…
