There are times when small events are way more fun and exciting than a big premiere. I mean these days everything is so hectic and crazy, doing a smaller event with people you really like is just a lot more exciting for me.
Does that mean I’m getting old? hmmmm… No of course not.
There was a play reading called “Sharpies,” this weekend and no the irony was not lost on me.
Scotty and I headed down and I have to tell you, the play was really funny. In the play was the amazing and iconic Lesley Ann Warren from Clue: The Movie and Victor/Victoria as well as Bullets Over Broadway and Bride of Chucky star Jennifer Tilley.
I love both of them and of course had stuff for them to sign. I mean hello… The play was called Sharpies, for God sakes.
When we arrived, Scotty and I noticed the crazy chandeliers at the venue. Hmmmm There’s a giant screw, a bird and a hanging piece of wood… I’m sure there’s meaning there, I’m just not sure what it could be…
We waited after the play and Lesley Ann Warren came out pretty quickly. She was so sweet. I had my Clue: The Movie mobile which I’ve been working on. I have Tim Curry, Martin Mull, and Michael McKean signed in their character colors. Yes, I’m doing a second piece like this, don’t ask… I”m insane.
Lesley Ann Warren was very nice and she signed my mobile in red as well as a Ms. Scarlet photo and a photo from Victor/Victoria. We chatted a bit about Clue, but she seemed rushed so I didn’t want to bother her.
We waited a bit and Jennifer Tilly was running later than the other folks.
When she did come out, I have to say, Jennifer Tilly was over the top sweet. I mean, I’ve never met Jennifer Tilly before and she was just adorable.
She said, “Guys, let’s put everything down on the table, it’ll be so much easier.” Love… Love her.
She signed my Jennifer Tilly poster in green to match and then said, “You guys are so artistic, with the matching pens.”
Jennifer then did photos with everyone and said, “Be careful of the bad lighting, at my age it’s all bad lighting!” I was like, you are gorgeous, there is no bad lighting for Jennifer Tilly.
It was a really fun afternoon! Again it’s sometimes the smaller events that are so much fun!
Until next time kids…
