Throwback Thurs! Meeting Saoirse Ronan! Laurie Metcalf! Lucas Hedges! Timothée Chalamet! Greta Gerwig! Lady Bird Q and A!

Little Women is about to hit theaters and even though it was shunned by the SAG Awards, I’m hoping it does great!

I thought this was a good time to do a Throwback to meeting Saoirse Ronan, who I adore!

Check out the recap below!

Lady Bird received a rare distinction, it received, and I believe it was today, a 100% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes. Now, only Toy Story 2 has gotten a score like that, so it’s really impressive.

I was lucky enough to attend a screening followed by a q and a with the cast including: Saoirse Ronan, Laurie Metcalf, Lucas Hedges, Beanie Feldstein, Timothée Chalamet, and director Greta Gerwig.

Can I just say, that Lady Bird is one of my favorite films, not just this year but period. It captures the awkwardness of growing up so perfectly and the performances are superb. Everyone is amazing and Saoirse Ronan is outstanding!

I fell in love with this movie and if you haven’t seen it yet, you need to do so!

The cast loved the film and being a part of it. Greta Gerwig said, that while she wrote and directed the film it wasn’t directly about her. She never dyed her hair red and in fact she was a people pleaser which is in contrast to the main character of the film.

“I wrote this character on the page and I wanted it to be an exploration of home and how it only makes sense as you’re leaving it.” Gerwig explained, “I wanted it to be a love story between a mom and a daughter.”

The cast was so excited to see each other as it was the first q and a that they all had a chance to be together at.

“We knew it was going to work because the script was so strong. I knew I was going to say yes before I read it because it was her.” Laughed Saoirse Ronan. “It was really exciting to read the script and she’s one of those characters who you feel like you’re reading about your own life.”

Ronan continued to say that the character is self assured, but filled with self doubt which is why she’s so interesting. Also that every character is given their own story and love i the script.

“I read the script right away.” Said Laurie Metcalf, “I talked with Greta and knew the relationship immediately because I was dealing with it in my own home at the time. I knew that I was in safe hands and I think I speak for everyone in the cast because she poured so much of herself into the script. I walked away each day knowing that Greta was proud of us all.”

After the panel the entire cast stuck around to hand.

Laurie Metcalf was a little hesitant to come over and sign, but she was very nice.

Lucas Hedges was the same coming on over with a huge smile on his face.

Beanie Feldstein was adorable and even came off the stage for pictures.

Saoirse Ronan is the most adorable person ever. I want to hang out with her, seriously, she’s just so sweet. She was laying on the floor of the stage and doing photos. I even told her that this film is everyone’s story and I apologized for crying in the front row.

Timothée Chalamet was as sweet as can be, and considering the year he’s having was super cool.

Greta Gerwig, who is always nice again here was great.

It was a wonderful q and a and a great day.

until next time kids…
