It’s a different land… It’s The Land of the Lost!
Pinky was out and about this weekend and was lucky enough to meet the cast at the reunion this weekend. Man, who can forget Land of the Lost, it was one of those iconic series that everyone from certain generations will always remember.
Check out Pinky’s Manic Monday below!
Hello, my lovelies. Pinky Lovejoy-Coogan here recovering from a very busy weekend while still being a bit under the weather. Still, nothing could keep me away from reporting about our exciting adventure with the cast from Land of the Lost at the Hollywood Show. What fun!
Now, for those of you who are unfamiliar with the amazing joy of watching anything created from the mind of Sid & Marty Kroft, let me give you a little background. “Back in my day” (did I really just say that?), we didn’t have the luxury of channels built just for kids. In fact, our viewing options were, well, limited to say the least. We had Saturday morning cartoons and then in the middle of those, we had the Sid & Marty Kroft hour (or half hour, I can’t remember).
What made it even more exciting was that you never knew what show was going to be on and they had a vast array of shows including Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, The Bugaloos, Land of the Lost, H.R. Puf-n-Stuff, and Lidsville (I’m sure there were more, but that’s all I can remember right now). In our house, we were crazy about The Bugaloos, H.R. Puff-n-Stuff, and, especially, Land of the Lost. Of course, we loved them all, but there was something special about Land of the Lost that felt like it could happen to you. Perhaps you were boating with your family and somehow got transported into a land before time complete with dinosaurs, scary Sleestaks, and a lovable companion called Cha-ka.
It could happen, right? All of sudden, you’d be hanging out with Will, Holly, Marshall, and Cha-ka, while avoiding Sleestaks and dinosaurs at every turn. I can still hear the scary hiss of those Sleestaks! Ugh. Getting to meet the cast was a dream come true. Wesley Eure (Will), Kathy Coleman (Holly), and Philip Paley (Cha-ka) could not have been cooler. I love when casts embrace their shows and they were more than happy to pose with Sleestaks and ham it up! We loved it! We were able to get a group shot with them, as well as individual shots with each. So cool! I will treasure it forever. Long live Land of the Lost!
