Liz here. Frequent reader, first time blogger. Hang in there with me. Hope we have a good time together. I’m hanging out in my PJs taking in the excitement of the show. I was reasonably satisfied with the Golden Globes outcomes so hoping for the same results for the SAG Awards. I’ll be watching For Mike on the carpet along with maybe some other familiar faces. May be tough with the lame tents blocking the way. I guess it’s better safe than sorry with the rain bouncing around lately. Well, lets jump over to CNN for the Red Carpet arrivals for the SAG awards! Then on to TBS to watch the show!

RED CARPET live
Well off to a great start. Nice plastic smile from our anchors at CNN. And that dress…a little awkward. I’m guessing she has boob tape binding her into that dress. Aww, a look back at previous SAG awards. Let’s see how many repeats we will see and maybe any upsets. Ok really, this chic is looking for Dame Maggie Smith. When was the last time Maggie came to an award ceremony. You are going to be disappointed lady. With that, I’m jumping over to E! Live where Ross is currently interviewing Ty Burrell of Modern Family. Love that guy! Ty says Law&Order got him his SAG card. He said he played different parts and nobody noticed lol. Well, we all notice you now. Oh, and now back to “G”. Giuliana Rancic. The dress is a little interesting, but I am giving her credit that she can pull it off! Well, gonna watch a bit of the carpet and will be back here and there so keep checkin back!

Mark Salling (Glee) can’t really explain his issue with the tabloid. Not sure what happened there. I feel left out. Mark is really stumbling over his words. WOAH! Referring to his relationship with Jesus Christ. That’s new. I won’t comment more, but that’s interesting.

Magical Makeover was an after-school special that got Kerry Washington her SAG card. I’m usually disappointed with Kerry’s clothes, but think she looks beautiful tonight.

Aww, Michelle Dockery. I do not watch Downton Abbey, yes, one of the few, but she is such a sweetheart. I’m not sure about this dress though. Hope she doesn’t pop out the side!

On to Jane Krakowski. I think that dress is fun! She’s probably the only one to pull off the “orangy-sherbert type of thing” and simple enough. I know they might miss this steady salary, I don’t think I will, but wish the cast the best at finding their next job!

Next, Darren Criss (Glee). Gotta say, he’s very comfortable with this interview. Just means he’s there having fun. “If I told you I’d have to kill you” about a Glee after-party. Nice save, Darren.

Well, as they went off to comercial, saw Chris Tucker. He is riding this “Silver LInings Playbook” train for sure. I’ll always love him.

Elizabeth Moss is with Gulianna now. That clutch is crazy. I’m to the point it’s not about the dress, it’s about the accessories! 3 days of talking about herself at Sundance. Did Pinky Love Joy see her there?

Ok, I’m letting any Glee fans down right now. No clue who this chic is, but as they show the carpet, I see Helen Hunt. Obviously decided her hair didn’t matter today.

Next Rainn Wilson. I think he’s really living up his moment here at SAG with The Office ending. He’s being super nice, but funny as usual. “The ginger guy from Homeland is here!” LOL. “So long America.'”

AAAHHH Jessica Chastain!!! She didn’t want to go “too Diva” with her hari because of the diamonds. I actually love this dress too. I don’t think she usually does colors that really make her gorgeous hair pop and I think she did with this dress. Love how much she loves acting and found her place! Her inspirations are Melissa Leo, Mark Ruffalo who worked so hard until being noticed! We are so proud of you girl!!

Poor Naomi Watts. I hear amazing things about her performance in The Impossible, but she’s kind of the forgotten nominee and here they ask her husband Liev Schreiber about his new show, then ask her about her dress. I actually adore this dress on her. Totally Naomi style. Aww, the couple are presenting together. That is super sweet and you don’t see that very often!

EEEEK! Bradley Cooper. Wait did he think she said his name wrong!? I have loved Bradley for more than most have known he was an actor. It’s been a little sad to see the nominations get to his head. He used to take care of the fans all the time and now avoids even a wave. Then when he lost to Hugh Jackman, he couldn’t even put on a fake smile. Here, he is totally distracted and does not look thrilled to be here. Making me sad. It’s an honor just to be nominated Bradley and be happy you even got that! Oh man, but then when he speaks French, all.is.forgiven! Those eyes too. Even Giuliana looked weirded out.

Oh, are Pinky’s ears burning. I’m laughing watching Chord Overstreet be interviewed. He’s very boring, but pretty sure he can do no wrong in her book.

Hahah Giuliana refers to Neil Patrick Harris as NPH! That’s great! And I would KILL to see NPH rockin out to GAGA! Random to have juggling on the carpet, but ok.

Dev (Patel) and Frieda (Pinto). Who’d a thunk that they would make it this long. Such a random couple! Usually very sweet.

Giuliana just called Helen Hunt, Helen Hunter. Good grief. I actually have to say I LOVE Helen’s dress, but the hair, needs some help. Man, will always love “Mad About You.” “Meryl Streep doesn’t suck.” Did she just say that. And I love that she talks about the biggest actresses of all time and tries to put herself there. Good grief!

Back with Julianne Moore-WHAT IS THAT DRESS!! The straps look like something on a sun-dress I”d wear to a picnic and the form is NOT flattering on her at all! I always feel bad that when they talk about how hard it is too choose and then they choose the ugly one. Oh well! “It takes much more energy to be mean that it is to be nice.” I”ll be sure to bring that up the next time I see her.

Oh Amanda Seyfried. Fan since Veronica Mars. She seems a bit awkward. She was just waiting for the quetion of “who are you wearing.” I love the dress. Nice and simple but with a little pizazz. These girls and the heavy dress. Ï’m hoping we don’t win the ensemble award” so she doesn’t have to go up to the stage. That’s the attitude. Don’t choose that dress then! Sheesh! She’s being very weird but ok.

Oh there is Jennifer Lawrence who had pneumonia and now she’s “fine.” This dress is a little drab. We all know she is a front-runner for the win, I’d choose something a little more. I guess she’s saving that for the Oscars. Wish she was nicer than she is. Said “on the way out” at a screening, then ran straight to the car. One day maybe. She’s definitely riding that nomination/winner train. But I definitely think she earned this recognition. She was amazing in Silver Linings Playbook.
*Side note: Claire Danes makeup-FOR REAL!?

Tina Fey back to her old style-boring black and odd hair. Her boobs look more Madonna style-very pointy. I like that she brought up Tommy lee Jones and his crabby look. Yuck! Dude, Mean Girls the Musical. They’d make BANK!
*Side note, do you guys see Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara in the back. So cute!

Love Julie Bowen. Such a sweetheart! I like that she’s talking about speed when Julie looks like she is having a little help from something. “The good angel and the bad angel” with Sofia. So cute! Sofia doesn’t know an Oreo Cookie lol. I’m sure because of how she keeps her shape. She is one that I am super jealous of. Looks too amazing for her age!
* Side note-Amanda still looking awkward in the background.

Marion Cotillard is sick and still comes out! Her hair looks funky. I love her longer curly hair. The dress looks like a dress a 12-year old would wear-her whole look isn’t quite right. She’s gorgeous and really not using it to her advantage. Poor thing though. Sounds so sick.

Oh Ben Affleck. Acting so nice when he doesn’t care about the fans really. How cute is he though. He looks tired. We are still proud of him for sure! Where’s his gorgeous wife!!

Ross gets to interview Nicole Kidman. Man, he really scored with this gig. Fingers are crossed for Mike to get Nicole to sign. Where is her hubby? They are always side by side. I LOVE Nicole’s dress.
*Side note: WTF IS JANUARY JONES WEARING!?!? And that hair. YUCK! And Justin Timberlake with parted hair and a tweed suit? Not sure about that one.

I LOVE that Chris Tucker has to name drop who he just did his movie with and plug his tour 🙂 Oh Ross, stop singing!
*Side note: Jennifer Garner-GORGEOUS! But she can do no wrong in my book!

AAAHH!! Hugh Jackman! Where is Deb. She’s always with him too. I love their love! I love this sweet little interview! Just casual friends drinking backstage. Hugh looks very relaxed and I love it. He’s so hot with that goatee. Not that he’s not always hot. Giuliana is loving her life right now! LOVE it!!!! “You just made my life! Forget my wedding and my baby!” Awesome!

Ok, so I’m having too much fun with this red carpet today. Thanks for anyone who may be reading this. So Claire Danes, already commented about her makeup. YUCK! She should never have dark makeup. I like how happy she looks though talking about her baby 🙂
*Side note: AAhh Russell Crowe is there! Oh and there’s Anne. She looks like “Why do I have to do this carpet?”

Well, here we go ladies and gentleman! Enjoy the show!

SAG-Awards-2013 tbs tnt awards show rare promo actor

This is a very strange start to the show. A little awkward but nice to see Hal Holbrook! Alfre Woodard’s dress is a little strange. Close but no cigar. OOOH SOFIA!!!

Nicole Kidman starts us out tonight.

Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Supporting Role:
Alan Arkin / Lester Siegel – “Argo”
Javier Bardem / Silva – “Skyfall”
Robert De Niro / Pat, Sr. – “Silver Linings Playbook”
Philip Seymour Hoffman / Lancaster Dodd – “The Master”
Tommy Lee Jones / Thaddeus Stevens – “Lincoln”

Absolutely wanting DeNiro. He was Amazing in Silver Linings Playbook!
And the award goes to…Tommy Lee Jones!! What?!? YUCK! He doesn’t deserve it. Such a grabby jerk. Oh well. Didn’t even show up after all the teasing he got after the Golden Globes.

Aww, Bradley and Jennifer together to introduce this amazing film. I haven’t left a movie thinking the whole cast and the story and the ending all worked together so well to create a film that was so enjoyable.

Justin Timberlake, JRT as I like to refer to him as. Alright, I guess he can pull it off.
Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Supporting Role:
Sally Field / Mary Todd Lincoln – “Lincoln”
Anne Hathaway / Fantine – “Les Misérables”
Helen Hunt / Cheryl – “The Sessions”
Nicole Kidman / Charlotte Bless – “The Paperboy”
Maggie Smith / Muriel Donnelly – “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel”

I’m hoping for…dude, why even bother. Anne is gonna take it for sure.
And the award goes to…Anne Hathaway did it. Very surprised..NOT! Let’s see what she has to say. She keeps kissing up to Sally Field.
“I’m just so thrilled I have dental.” Kind of a boring acceptance speech, but I like that she talked about Dark Knight. She didn’t forget the smaller people.

Well, not off to a great start, but the night is young!

And we’re back:
Jeff Daniels and Kerry Washington..this could be interesting. Better than I expected. Jeff can be drab sometimes.
Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Comedy Series:
Alec Baldwin / Jack Donaghy – “30 Rock”
Ty Burrell / Phil Dunphy – “Modern Family”
Louis C.K. / Louie – “Louie”
Jim Parsons / Sheldon Cooper – “The Big Bang Theory”
Eric Stonestreet / Cameron Tucker – “Modern Family”

Same ol’same ol’nominees. Come on studios, let’s get something new in here! All very talented, but still.

And the award goes to…Alec Baldwin. Not a surprise. He obviously had to win at least one more time before the show’s end. A very nice send-off for the show. It’s always sad to see these shows end especially not know what’s to come for tv and the actors.

Julianne Moore and Damian Lewis-did they put the two gingers together on purpose 🙂

Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Comedy Series:
Edie Falco / Jackie Peyton – “Nurse Jackie”
Tina Fey / Liz Lemon – “30 Rock”
Amy Poehler / Leslie Knope – “parks And Recreation”
Sofia Vergara / Gloria Delgado-pritchett – “Modern Family”
Betty White / Elka Ostrovsky – “Hot In Cleveland”

All great nominations again. Hmm…
And the award goes to…Tina Fey. Hmm, wonder if that was planned. So long 30 Rock. We loved ya, well, some did.”I share this with my sweet friend Amy Poehler.” “I’ve known you since you were pregnant with Lena Dunham!” Ok, that’s great! OH, and “just tape the big bang theory for once for crying out loud.” Watch the finale!

Argo-I hear nothing but great things. But when you have two of the biggest jerks of hollywood and one that’s really tough, it’s hard to bring myself to go see it. But it’s by Mr. Jennifer Garner so I will soon!

Julianna Margulies and Noah Wylie reunited!!! I love it!!! Best ensemble-ER! 🙂

Outstanding Performance By An Ensemble In A Comedy Series:
30 Rock
The Big Bang
Glee
Modern Family
Nurse Jackie
The Office

Hmm, 30 Rock or The Office in their last year. I’d vote for The Office simply because they are more congenial as a whole. Let’s see what the SAG thinks.
And the award goes to…Modern Family. 3rd consecutive win. Crazy. HAHA and Edie Falco looks pissed. Priceless. Nobody likes you Edie! Jesse, where’s your bow-tie!

Back with Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber. Cute couple. Not the nicest, but they do take care of fans every now and then.
Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Television Movie Or Miniseries:
Nicole Kidman / Martha Gellhorn – “Hemingway & Gellhorn”
Julianne Moore / Sarah Palin – “Game Change”
Charlotte Rampling / Eva Delectorskaya – “Restless”
Sigourney Weaver / Elaine Barrish Hammond – “Political Animals”
Alfre Woodard / Ouiser – “steel Magnolias”

Man, these are tough categories but I’m voting for Julianne Moore. She just did Palin so flippin well! Oh Sigourney is looking old. And I can NOT vote for anyone who tries to re-do Steel Magnolias. PLEASE!
And the award goes to..Julianne Moore. Congrats. Aww and Nicole with her fake smile. Poor thing lost two categories tonight. You’ll get them next time Nicole! Still can’t get over Julianne’s ugly dress. I like Julianne’s speech. First SAG win, and she gives more credit to the others on her “team.” Nice take on it!

UGH! Rose Byrne-you need a new stylist-YUCK YUCK. There is no good part to her ensemble. James Marsden is always pretty.
Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Television Movie Or Miniseries:
Kevin Costner / “Devil Anse” Hatfield – “Hatfields & Mccoys”
Woody Harrelson / Steve Schmidt – “Game Change”
Ed Harris / John Mccain – “Game Change”
Clive Owen / Ernest Hemingway & “Hemingway & Gellhorn”
Bill Paxton / Randall Mccoy – “Hatfields & Mccoys”

Hmm, I’d like to see Clive win, but don’t think he has a chance against Kevin Costner.
And the actor goes to…Kevin Costner…who isn’t here.

Ken Howard and ___? for SAG-AFTRA. Love Ken Howard and all his work (partial to Crossing Jordan).
I understand why they do this during the shows..recognizing the association putting on the award, but NOBODY CARES!!! Just accept that and stop wasting our time. You are being recognized simply with people voting and watching your show. Haha, surprise surprise, Morgan Freeman to open up the video on the merger.

Oh ewe, I thought I liked Anne’s dress, but I hate those weird half dresses. Who came up with that and why is it so popular. I’m enjoying this intro to Les Miserables!!! This is great!!!!! I wish I could quote it! Basically naming all the famous characters of those in the film. And of course with Anne singing her badass version of “I dreamed a dream.”

And Alec Baldwin is back to present to Dick Van Dyke. Now let me tell you I LOVE Mary Poppins, Loved Diagnosis Murder, and everything else I’ve seen him in, but YUCK. He could care less for the fans that keep him going in his old age. So I can’t be very excited for this Lifetime Achievement Award.

Oh, Bradley finally cracks a smile. Can you feel the “fake” love in the room. Ok ok, i’m sure it’s not fake as he’s probably a doll to all of them since they are in the “inner circle.” I would love to love him. He is a great actor!
Why does he look orange?? And how YOUNG is his wife!? I will say one nice thing, he has earned this recognition. He’s had 70 years of amazing work.

Amy Poehler and Neil Patrick Harris to present.
Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Drama Series:
Steve Buscemi / Enoch “Nucky” Thompson – “Boardwalk Empire”
Bryan Cranston / Walter White – “Breaking Bad”
Jeff Daniels / Will Mcavoy – “The Newsroom”
Jon Hamm / Don Draper – “mad Men”
Damian Lewis / Nicholas Brody – “Homeland”

Anyone but Jeff Daniels please. He is the part he plays in Newsroom. Why would we reward him for that? Hope I didn’t just jinx it. Bryan Cranston is still a fave of mine. Damian, a fave of Gregg’s
And the actor goes to…Bryan!!! Woohoo!! BRYAN’S FIRST WIN FOR SAG!! What is your problem people. He is so amazing! And just remember where he came from. “It is so good to be bad.” Yes it is and you are amazing at it!! AAWW Look at his wife and daughter. So sweet! So proud!I love this man!

Dev Patel for “Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.” I HATE that I haven’t seen this yet. So excited to see it when the time comes.

TAYE DIGGS AND BUSY PHILLIPS. For those that watch Cougar Town (now on TBS), Busy’s category loves Taye Diggs. Love seeing them together!
Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Drama Series:
Claire Danes / Carrie Mathison – “Homeland”
Michelle Dockery / Lady Mary Crawley – “Downton Abbey”
Jessica Lange / Sister Jude – “American Horror Story: Asylum”
Julianna Margulies / Alicia Florrick – “The Good Wife”
Maggie Smith / Violet, Dowager Countess Of Grantham – “Downton Abbey”

Another one we don’t have to even second guess. Claire always wins. Jessica doesn’t deserve it. BLAH! Love Maggie Smith. She’s incredible in everything..obviously with 15 noms a year.
And the actor goes to…Claire Danes. Wow, first win for Homeland at SAG. That’s surprising to me.
Let’s see what she has to say after all her wins. Comparing it to mommy-hood. So silly. Her voice always cracks. And almost forgot Hugh and her baby.
*Side note, I”m loving that I saw like 60% of all these people last night. So fun. I love living in LA!

I have never heard the announcer mess up. Forgot what Jessica’s last name was! LOVE this woman! She’s so great and now gets to present the memoriam. Tissues please. Love me my MCD!! Still unreal we lost Andy Griffith and Dick Clark this year. So many greats to say goodbye too.

Alfred Molina (bleck) and Sigorney Weaver (terrible dress) to present:
Outstanding Performance By An Ensemble In A Drama Series:
Boardwalk Empire
Breaking Bad
Downton Abbey
Homeland
Mad Men

Go Breaking Bad!! Fingers crossed. I’m sorry, but I don’t care what the story is for Downton Abbey, I can”t listen to the British speech for that long. “Just excellent” perfectly, eloquently spoken. Sheesh. And the award goes to: WWOAH! Downton Abbey. It is about time. They have such a following but never win anything. Congrats to the cast! And thank you cast for being super sweet last night!

Sally Field really got lucky with Lincoln. She shared an amazing story of how it came to pass during one of her Q&As at the Aero Theater. And now her and Daniel Day Lewis appear to be linked for life. Very beautiful!

Oh Robert DeNiro, how I long to meet you. Presenting alone cause he’s that awesome. EEK ACtress in leading role!
Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Leading Role:
Jessica Chastain / Maya – “Zero Dark Thirty”
Marion Cotillard / Stephanie – “Rust And Bone”
Jennifer Lawrence / Tiffany – “Silver Linings Playbook”
Helen Mirren / Alma Reville – “Hitchcock”
Naomi Watts / Maria – “The Impossible”

Go Jessica Go Jessica Go Jessica!!!!! Jennifer totally deserves it too. She was AMAZING in Silver Linings. But I hear Naomi is phenomenal too. Tough call!

And the actor goes to: Jennifer Lawrence. I love Marion’s big smile and be careful Jennnifer! Don’t fall!! I think they knew it because Robert was in the movie with Jennifer. She really did earn this award. Amazing work. Cant say it enough. “And now I have this naked statue.” I was thinking about this. Little weird. This is a BEAUTIFUL speech! Go Jennifer. Please be nice though! This doesn’t last forever! OMG! She just called Harvey Weinstein a Rascal! Oh Jessica looked happy but like she was about to cry. It’s ok Jessica. You got the Globe and everyone loves you too!!

And we are back. Things are getting good now.
Viola Davis to present. Wow! She looks gorgeous and I love how she is rocking her “real” hair. Beautiful woman!
Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Leading Role:
Bradley Cooper / Pat – “Silver Linings Playbook”
Daniel Day-lewis / Abraham Lincoln – “Lincoln”
John Hawkes / Mark – “The Sessions”
Hugh Jackman / Jean Valjean – “Les Misérables”
Denzel Washington / Whip Whitaker – “Flight”

This is a tough one, but I think we all know who will take it. I think Bradley is cranky cause he knows he has no shot. He should be proud of where he is. Let’s see who gets it.

And the actor goes to: Daniel Day Lewis. Wait really?? LOL I think it’s crazy that before this years Globes Meryl and Daniel were the two to always win their nominations. Now Jennifer has won over Meryl, but Daniel keeps it going. I LOVE his speeches. He is so respectful to his fellow actors. Wow, a shout out to Joaquim Phoenix, Leo and Liam Neeson. Awesome. He’s so wonderful!

Oh Jude Law, why must you tease me so. So hot!
Outstanding Performance By A Cast In A Motion Picture:
Argo
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
Les Misérables
Lincoln
Silver Linings Playbook

And ARGO TAKES IT!! Yeah yeah yeah! I just hate that he was dissed by the Academy so I’m gonna stand by his side. Saw most of this cast last night and know i will one day get my moment with Ben. Aww love Jennifer and their cutie kids. This is an great speech too. So heart-felt and he meant business when making this movie. I’m getting chills seeing how touched he is! That was great! Congrats Ben and crew! What a great way to end the show!

Well, overall, a pretty expected outcome, but still some fun had by all. Can’t wait for the Academy Awards! Hope you all enjoyed reading this and from my house to yours, good night!
