Lord of the Rings Star Billy Boyd is Super Cool to Fans at the Premiere of Carmel By The Sea!

Running around, and running around… That seems to be my mantra these days. Today is a super small premiere for an indie film called Carmel By the Sea…? Or something like that. I haven’t really heard of it to be honest, but Tricia Helfer from Battlestar Galactica and Billy Boyd who is Peregrin Took from the Lord of the Rings films is supposed to be here. Oh, also on the bill are Alfred Molina, Lauren Bacall, Hayden Panettiere, and Josh Hutcherson. So, we shall see what happens!

5:45 p.m. – I just arrived. Scotty’s been here forever eating lunch. Usually there’s a barricade and press etc… not this time. The carpet is super small, and I doubt any major press is here at all.

5:54 p.m. – Wow, there are two other collector’s here, and just us. Like I told Scotty I bet there will be at least another 10 once this thing gets going. It’s always a cluster when there’s no barricade.

6:02 p.m. – So, I thought this thing was supposed to start at 6:00 but there’s literally no one here… ah well it is early.

6:10 p.m. – I’m really hoping that Billy Boyd shows up. I’m working on this Lord of the Rings trilogy poster. I know an impossible feat but the way I look at it, anyone can have a stack of 8×10 photos. I would rather have something that might take me 5 years to finish but is really cool once it’s done.

6:14 p.m. – Still nothing. Oh, and I’m working on a Battlestar Galactica cast piece. Again it will take me 5 years to finish, but once it’s done should look super cool.

6:22 p.m. – Wow, still no one. Maybe this premiere will consist of… well no one! LOL…

6:27 p.m. – I’m thinking Alfred Molina isn’t going to show up, but Josh Hutcherson should be here… That’s who Scotty really wants.

6:29 p.m. – Jansen Panettiere just showed up. No Hayden Panettiere. Jansen said Hayden was filming in like Japan or somewhere… he was telling one of the other collectors.

6:32 p.m. – Did I mention there are like 20 collector’s here now? I didn’t? Sigh… Coming out of the woodwork man I tell ya.

6:39 p.m. – Really… no one is showing up. It’s comedy! LOL… I thought for sure we would have seen Josh Hutcherson at least by now.

6:41 p.m. – Oh wait… Someone’s pulling up… It’s… Oh, it’s Billy Boyd! Scotty and I run over.

I pull out my Lord of the Rings poster. Scotty has a Lord of the Rings insert. God, all the collector’s are just mobbing him… Billy Boyd is super cool though.

He just keeps signing away.

Scotty got his, and then I asked Billy if he would mind signing the big poster. He turns to me and actually looks for himself to sign in the correct spot!

I mean how cool is that!

6:45 p.m. – Billy Boyd is then rushed onto the carpet. No surprise since there’s no one else here! LOL…

6:54 p.m. – it’s really odd… but I think they are putting anyone on the carpet they can find. The girl who was doing red carpet interviews is no posing on the carpet for photographers. Very odd… lol…

7:13 p.m. – Okay Scotty and I are calling it a night. While not a huge influx of people I’m stoked I got Billy Boyd! He’s a tough one to get because he’s not here in the U.S. a lot I hear. In another 5 years I’ll be done with this poster! Whoo hoo! LOL…
