Hello, my lovelies. Pinky Lovejoy on a Christmas high over here after watching yet another one of my favorite holidays films. In addition to “Love Actually,” another must-see-movie during the holiday season is the hysterical “The Santa Clause.”
I adore this film. The first time I saw it was on a double date with my BFF and her hubby and when Tim Allen said the line to Judge Reinhold about being concerned where he’d find another sweater like that when the circus left town, I must’ve laughed for at least ten minutes. In the theater.
I just couldn’t stop (gee, I wonder why I never got a second date?). I’m not sure why that line tickles me so much, but I’m still not able to watch the movie without laughing in the same place every time.
Like most people. I’m a fan of Tim Allen’s from his “Home Improvement” TV show. In fact, I even enjoy his new sitcom “Last Man Standing.”
(Editor’s Note: Ummm Galaxy Quest Hello! M-)
Because of this, and my love for the film, I’d been anxious to meet him for a long time. After striking out at a talk show appearance last year, I bought a ticket to see him perform at a comedy club. He was hilarious on-stage and had the audience in tears. He was amazing and I’m so glad I had the chance to watch his show. As soon as it ended, I jumped out of my seat and followed him out to where he was exiting since I didn’t want to leave anything to chance. I suppose I could’ve waited outside (as others did and he happily signed and posed with fans outside), but I wasn’t sure how it all worked, so I didn’t want to risk it. Thankfully, Tim stopped and posed with me inside and was very kind as I gushed about how much I love his work. It was a quick encounter, but I was stoked for it all the same.
As an added bonus, I met David Krumholtz at the movie theater one day –
he played the Head Elf Bernard in the film – and he’s always very cool in person.
If you haven’t yet seen “The Santa Clause,” I strongly suggest that you do so if you get the chance.
