Hello, my lovelies. Pinky Lovejoy here still on a high from getting to not only see Anthony Michael Hall in person again, but the fact that he KNOWS MY NAME. Like, hello, pinch me. Farmer Ted called me Pinky and I can’t seem to stop smiling.
How is this my life? A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend the Fanboy (nice name, right?) Expo in Knoxville, TN with my beloved Keith (yes, Mikey, I’m mentioning him again, shut up).
(Editor’s Note: Who is this crazy Keith? Have you talked about him or shared hundreds of photos of him… Oh wait… M-)
In addition to the other cool names on the roster like Elvira and Lee Majors, I was thrilled to see Anthony Michael Hall among the list of guests.
While I did have the opportunity to meet him a few years ago (you can read my previous recap up here) I wanted to have him sign our previous photo opp that I’d made into an “’80s collage” with all my faves from the John Hughes films.
Andrew McCarthy had already signed it (and I know the redhead won’t sign it…but at least I have a shot at getting all the guys on it), so I’m off to a good start.
Now, we all know I’m not big on autographs, but this one was worth it, so I carried the poster on all my flights and to the show. I’m SO glad I did! Not only did Anthony (or “Mike” as he likes to be called…shhhh, this is Top Secret Insider information here) sign my photo collage,
but I found this awesome Sixteen Candles poster at the show that I’d never seen before and he signed that too. Wahoo!
It’s no secret that I love all things ’80s and no one could be more ’80s than Anthony Michael Hall. Not only was he in such classics as Sixteen Candles and Breakfast Club, but he was even in Weird Science as the adorable nerd (seems to be a trend with him). As he got older, he was great in his TV series The Dead Zone
and I look forward to him getting even more roles that we can enjoy him in. He’s an amazing person and actor who is cool to his fans and very approachable. Three cheers for nice celebs!

Awesome. Loved him on The Dead Zone. What ever happened to the squeaky voice kid from Weird Science?
So jealous!
