Bonnie & Clyde Cast Q And A! Meeing Clyde Himself Emile Hirsh! Autographs! Photos! And More!
I have to tell you, sometimes… It’s the smaller events that are the most fun. Suddenly Susan was out and about for a q and a with cast and crew of Bonnie & Clyde, a mini series that I have wanted to see, but alas I haven’t yet.
Susan and Ace headed out to the event and had a wonderful time, there was a q and a as well as catered reception.
Check out Suddenly Susan’s full recap below!

I recently attended a special event for Bonnie & Clyde, which had aired simultaneously on three networks (USA, History Channel, and AMC) – a history making event in itself. After watching highlights from the two part television miniseries a panel discussion followed. The guests included star Emile Hirsch, director Bruce Beresford, costume designer Marilyn Vance, writers Joe Batteer and John Rice, co-star Lane Garrison, and music director John Debney.
I for one enjoyed this series and felt it was an extremely well done production from top to bottom. The panelists shared stories from the set and gave some interesting insight into the real Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker as they had done extensive research on the young criminal duo.
Emile Hirsch was very entertaining and funny. I’ve met him before and he’s such a quiet guy; always polite, and always nice, but always very quiet.
Afterwards, we were treated to a Prohibition Era reception where drinks at the bar were served in mini moonshine jars.
Ace kept one as a keepsake and had it signed by Emile, both writers and the director. Wish I had thought of that!
Emile gladly signed my Into the Wild mini poster and my The Girl Next Door DVD cover as well.
His signature is much nicer / fuller than his previous “EH” that he typically signs. Emile graciously posed for photos with the gusts, myself included of course!
I told Emile, and this will be news to the MTF readers, that when I lived in Chicago years ago I did a lot of background work and was often a stand-in for children. (I was a LOT thinner back then). He intently listened as I told him I had been his stand-in for two days of work on the television show “Early Edition,” which starred Kyle Chandler.
He said, “Oh, wow, that’s so long ago. Chicago right?” We chatted a bit and he really took in all fangirl blabber that spew from my mouth. Such a cool guy and super talented. I can’t wait to see what he brings to the new John Belushi biopic.
All in all, it was a fun night for a great miniseries that deserves some recognition come award season. I hope they get it!
