Meeting Gladiator Star Russell Crowe and Remarking To Myself How Awesome and Fan Friendly He Is! MTF Flashback!

So, I was licking my wounds from the whole Leslie Bibb debacle, and it got me thinking of the wonderful celebrity encounters I’ve had. You know, the people who don’t call their fans douches on Twitter. Yeah those. And I thought… Oh… Russell Crowe! The man with a horrible reputation, who throws phones and crap. Yep, him… He was so frakkin nice! So so nice!

I thought, you know… It would be a good time to look back at days like that. so… Here we go, a MTF flashback to Mr. Russell Crowe!

You know, sometimes I will print a photo or get a mini poster, and I just say to myself, I say, “Mike, why are you printing this? You know you will have it sitting in a drawer forever… sigh…” I actually verbally say, “Sigh” because I think it’s cute… Several others may disagree with me, but I stand by the cuteness.

Well, to make a long story short, I printed a couple cool images from the new Robin Hood movie, one of the movie poster, and the second of Russell Crowe. So I figured I would get them done eventually, and then I get a call that Russell Crowe is going to be doing a talk show taping. I thought… hmmmmmmm I should bring the two 12×18 prints… and to quote James Cromwell… “Golly!” That’s good timing!

3:20 p.m. – I just arrived. There are about 5 collectors here now… so… It would be nice… and since it looks like it’s going to rain any second… This is CA! It should not rain in CA!

3:31 p.m. – I’m hanging out… checking out the sights… Burbank is so beautiful in a rain storm… lol…

3:41 p.m. – usually when the sky is so menacing, I pack it in and give it up… I’m going to stick with it this time…

3:49 p.m. – My other friend is here, He brought some stills from A Beautiful Mind… it looks like everyone is coming out of the woodwork for this…

3:52 p.m. – Here are a couple cars… And there is Russell sitting in the front seat… He waves and goes right in… grumble!

4:01 p.m. – And here comes the rain again, falling on my head like a memory… Falling on my head like a new emotion…

4:14 p.m. – A light sprinkle never hurt anyone… and my posters are safely secured away…

4:24 p.m. – It’s raining a tad harder now… Ugh…

4:43 p.m. – Oh crap, it’s really coming down now! I’m huddled up under a strangers umbrella. We’re getting to know each other quite well. Come to think of it, I never asked if I could use his umbrella… huh… lol…

4:46 p.m. – The drops are large… I mean these drops of rain mean business! I really hope this clears up soon. The show will be over soon… sigh…

4:49 p.m. – It’s really coming down… grumble… My back is getting really wet… As long as my crap doesn’t get wet I’m okay…

4:56 p.m. – It’s really cold too… Man, it’s like I’m back in Michigan…

5:04 p.m. – The show is starting to let out… which means in addition to the now 30 people here, we will probably have a lot of people coming out and asking, “What’s going on here?”

5:07 p.m. – Oh Man, there are like 60 people milling about now…

5:12 p.m. – People are pouring out of the show… Dude, that’s crazy…

5:22 p.m. – there are ladies with garbage bags on their heads… I can’t imagine caring about my hair so much that I would wear a garbage bag on my head… lol…

5:31 p.m. – I would guesstimate that there are 80 people here now… I can’t imagine anyone stopping for all of this insanity…

5:43 p.m. – Oh, here they are… here are the Russell Crowe cars… man… Wait… Someone is getting out… It’s Russell’s security… He says, we all need to get in a single line, and he will take us up one by one to get a picture and one thing signed!

Holy crap, I can’t believe that he would stop like this! How cool…

5:46 p.m. – one lady didn’t bring anything to get signed so she is going to get my poster done for me…

5:48 p.m. – There has to be like 90 people here… all behaving themselves, and being orderly… what’s up with that crack rock!

5:54 p.m. – The nice lady who doesn’t have anything is going up to the car… She is getting my poster signed and getting a picture with Russell…

Dude, how awesome is that!

Next is my turn. Russell isn’t chatty, but is nice enough to stop, sign, and take a photo…

I would say this is going to take him like 45 minutes! Crazy…

6:01 p.m. – Everyone literally all got their stuff done. I just am so shocked that Russell not only stopped but also signed for everyone… Note to other celebs this is how you treat your fans! And it was done so orderly and calm… Such a nice thing for him to do!
