Can I tell you how much I love Karen Allen! Not only was she in one of the most seminal films of the past 30 years, but she revitalized the modern day heroine. Growing up, Karen Allen’s Marion Ravenwood was one of the first strong kick ass females I saw on film. She wasn’t just the damsel in distress she was kicking ass!
Then Karen Allen went on to star in Scrooged, Starman and more. I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for Karen Allen and I’m glad she’s been out and about more since Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull!
Pinky, Met Karen Allen at the Chiller convention and she was so sweet!
Check out Pinky’s full report after the jump!
Hello, my lovelies. Pinky Lovejoy here still on a high from being newly engaged and living in Love Land for the moment (I know what you’re thinking: *groan*).
(Editor’s Note: How do you know what I’m thinking! M-)
What I probably forgot to mention in all the excitement was that we got engaged during the weekend we spent in New Jersey at the Chiller convention. Now, I’d never been to Chiller before and was super excited to check it out. The guest list was huge and had several people on it I’d never seen before. One of the names I was most looking forward to meeting was the perennial ‘80s star Karen Allen.
She looked amazing! Seriously, it was like she hadn’t aged a day. I felt like I was watching her all over again in the “Indiana Jones” movies. I think a lot of people felt the same way because she had a huge line even on the last day of the show (after most people had left), which proves how popular her booth was.
But I have a confession to make: Back in the ‘80s, I thought Karen Allen played Lois Lane, as well. I know, it’s terrible, but I can hardly tell the difference between Margot Kidder (who was the real Lois Lane) and Karen Allen. They could be sisters!
As they’ve gotten older they don’t look as much alike, but back in the day I could barely tell them apart. Come on – these pictures prove they’re twins. Well, at least they look very, very similar.
Karen Allen was very friendly and happy to chat with everyone at her booth. While our picture took very little time, I could tell that she was a sweetheart and was happy I’d come over to meet her. How could you not love all those freckles?
