Hello, my lovelies. Pinky Lovejoy-Coogan here thinking about one of the originals of our time. Back in 1984 a little film came out about dancing. Or, rather, the lack of dancing in a little town where it was forbidden. That’s right, I’m talking about Footloose.

No, not the one that was released a few years ago, the original Footloose starring Kevin Bacon and Lori Singer. Who can forget the iconic prom scene from the end when Kevin, I mean Ren, yells out, “Let’s dance!”

I remember seeing Lori on both Footloose and the iconic show, Fame, but I haven’t heard much about her since then.

So I was surprised to see her name listed at an event I attended recently. I wasn’t quite sure if I’d recognize her, but I never should have worried. When Lori came out, she looked exactly the same and was as sweet as can be. In fact, when I asked her for a picture, she said, “With me? Why?” The only bummer was that she put her glasses on before the picture – she looked beautiful without them! Oh, well.

It was fun meeting her all the same. I’d been lucky enough to meet a few of her co-stars from the film, Kevin Bacon and Sarah Jessica Parker, at Sundance several years ago, so I was thrilled to get to meet Lori, as well.
