Manic Monday! Meeting Michael Fassbender! Pinky Finally Gets Her Photo With The X-Men Star! Magneto Goodness!

Awwww, I love this one! The lovely Ms. Pinky got to meet someone she’s been admiring for years. Mr. Michael Fassbender! Who doesn’t love the X-Men star? I mean seriously, he’s awesome!

Anyway, I’m super happy for Ms. Pinky! She got an amazing photo! Check out the full Manic Monday below!

Hello, my lovelies. Pinky Lovejoy-Coogan here with a different Manic Monday than most. Instead of writing about the traditional stars from the ‘70s or ‘80s, I thought we’d take a look at someone whose career is so white hot, he was nominated for an Academy Award. Considering the Academy Awards are being handed out this week, what better time to take a look at this talented actor?

Michael Fassbender is, arguably, one of the hottest stars around. Not only is he gorgeous, talented, gregarious, and sexy, but there’s that earth-shattering smile. And those eyes. Those piercing blue eyes.

If you’ve seen Shame you know there’s also something else he’s well known for, but I’ll let you use your imaginations there.

I remember the first time I’d really heard his name – we were at some event and I asked Mikey where Erica was. He replied, “She went to get Michael Fassbender.” My reply, “Michael Fas-what?” The name seemed very strange to me. I told him I’d never heard of him and then went on to regret my naiveté for years. Not long after that, Michael was honored at some GQ party. Again, I didn’t go and have regretted it ever since, as apparently every person on earth was able to meet him that night.

At the time I kept thinking “he’ll be around” if I wanted to meet him….not taking into consideration that he lives in London. Oops. Years passed and my attempts at meeting Michael Fassbender were foiled one after the other. At one point I think I had just as many missed opportunities for him as I did for Ethan Hawke and Steve Carell (my other current unicorns – although, thankfully, Ethan is no longer on that list). The one time I did see him in person, he shot me down for a picture, and I was just as stunned as I was sad, since everyone told me how nice he was.

By the beginning of this year, Michael Fassbender was the #1 person on my “bucket list” of people I wanted to meet. Knowing this, my sweet husband was on high alert for any screenings which listed Michael Fassbender being in attendance. Finally, he saw the perfect thing – a screening of 12 Years A Slave with a Q&A with the cast, including Michael Fassbender! He immediately signed us up for the screening and let me know we were finally going to meet my unicorn (is he the best, or what?). Just to be sure I was able to meet him, I decided to make Michael a scarf, since he also had a film screening at Sundance. I figured this was my lucky “in” with George Clooney a few years ago, so why not go with that method again? I chose black and blue (to bring out his eyes) and eagerly waited through the Q&A for my chance to go up and talk to him. During the Q&A, you could barely take your eyes off “Fassy” – he’s just so animated and awesome to see in person.

As soon as the Q&A ended, I jumped up out of my seat and made my way to the stage before anyone else could get to him. I told him I’d made him a scarf for Sundance and he said, “Awww, thank you. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it to Sundance, but it does get cold in London.” When he came to get the scarf, I asked him for a picture, and he was happy to pose. Apparently I didn’t need to worry, as he ended up posing with anyone who asked and remained there for a long, long time.

In fact, we were outside talking to friends and noticed him be the last one to leave. As I couldn’t resist getting another one (because I think I look silly in the first one), I asked him for another picture and was thrilled when he put his arm around me. Squee! Keith took our picture and was just as excited to have taken a picture OF Michael Fassbender. He even got us laughing right before the picture and brought out Fassy’s sexy smile. Swoon. If you haven’t seen Michael’s work in Shame, 12 Years a Slave, Inglorious Bastards, Prometheus, or X-Men, I highly recommend you do so. Best wishes to him and all the nominees this weekend!
