Throwback! I’m Celebrating Like It’s New Years Eve After Meeting Michelle Pfeiffer! Hilary Swank! Katherine Heigl! And More!

There are few events I remember in such detail as the New Years Eve premiere. It was the days when going to a big premiere was actually fun. LOL. I was dying and I do mean dying for Michelle Pfeiffer. The poster she signed for me is framed under UV glass in my bedroom.

It was such a great day, as pretty much everyone came over.

Today is the New Years Eve premiere, and there is one reason and one reason only that I am going… that reason? Michelle Pfeiffer. I have had this Batman Returns mini poster since 1992. I have held it in a tube and waited to get it signed. That’s… What 19 years? Good times… I tried once before when Stardust was released but Michelle isn’t always the nicest celebrity, and on this occasion she pulled down her glasses, looked at me with my Catwoman mini poster and said, “You look like a zombie.” Pushed her glasses back up and walked away.

There have been different variations of this story that have been passed around by my friends, and when I get irritated or pissed my friends start humming The Cranberries Zombie… Sigh…

Since this is pretty big premiere I have a bunch of other stuff too… but if I go home with only my Catwoman mini poster signed, I would be happy!

12:45 p.m. – I just arrived. CB is here and he got a spot. The problem is they keep changing the drop… sigh…

1:02 p.m. – The carpet is okay, but nothing terribly special…

1:15 p.m. – Not everyone is coming today, this is a pretty star studded cast, but only Ashton Kutcher, Katherine Heigl, Michelle Pfeiffer, Josh Duhamel, Joey McIntyre, Hilary Swank, Lea Michele, Sofía Vergara, Zac Efron, Abigail Breslin, and a few others are supposed to be here… but still that’s an impressive list!

2:01 p.m. – Anushika just arrived! Yay! I love me some Anushika!

2:11 p.m. – There is a giant glitter ball they are setting up in the middle of the carpet, lol… Funny…

2:16 p.m. – I think we have a good spot but we just don’t know…

2:34 p.m. – There are two stages they are putting up now in front of us… sigh… So much for being near the drop…

2:46 p.m. – My friend Mike, great name, has a large chunk of space saved and he’s not sure where to stand. He also has a Michelle Pfeiffer one sheet of Catwoman just like my mini poster… So, we’re chatting now…

3:02 p.m. – Scotty is here now… Almost everyone! Lol…. And Erica is going to leave work soon!

3:02 p.m. – We are eying the two cones because that could be the drop or it could be to the side…

3:16 p.m. – Some people brought New Years Eve noisemakers and stuff and are making spectacles of themselves… Interesting…

3:21 p.m. – Hmmmm Mike is debating about staying here with us or going by the noisemaker people where someone else is saving him a spot…

3:35 p.m. – I’m eating at the Baja Fresh… I’m not feeling good about getting Michelle so I’m drowning my sorrows in salsa…mmmm salsa….

3:49 p.m. – Melissa my friend is also here… Melissa is also known as the Tattoo girl! She really wants Jessica Biel…

4:12 p.m. – Oh Erica is here… Mike decided to stay and so we were able to move down so now we are closer… So close but so far away…

4:16 p.m. – Wait… Wait… Oh crap the drop is right across the street now! We are just o the side of the drop… This could be good placement…

4:20 p.m. – Scotty just said my mood changed considerably… lol…

4:29 p.m. – There are a few really cool girls behind us! I only remember one of their names though… Megan! It was nice to meet you and your friends!

4:37 p.m. – I brought my Knocked Up mini poster and my W magazine for Katherine Heigl… I actually like her, lol… I know a lot of people don’t but she’s so fan friendly and really nice.

5:09 p.m. – There are giant urns on the carpet now that they are making into heat lamps… Maybe it’s a New Years Eve thing???

5:35 p.m. – It’s getting closer… The press are getting into their pens…

5:46 p.m. – I heard they were closing down the street for this but not as of yet…

5:53 p.m. – Oh… oh… The street is closed! Now no one has an excuse for not coming over! Sweet!

6:01 p.m. – It’s still a crap shoot though… I mean you just never know… Erica says that this is my favorite line…

6:02 p.m. – Some strange press girl in a cowboy hat with Christmas garland is coming across the street now… Interesting choice of attire!

6:06 p.m. – Oh, an arrival… It’s Garry Marshall! We’re calling for him but he’s not coming over… sigh… Oh well, putting the Pretty Woman mini poster away.

6:15 p.m. – The next arrival is Jake T. Austin. He’s from some nickelodeon shows.

I don’t have anything for him, but Erica is trying to get him on her New Year’s Eve poster… I know… She’s starting a New Year’s Eve poster… lol…

6:24 p.m. – Next arrival is Joey McIntyre… Again, I don’t need him but everyone else is calling him. Nadda… Wow, he barely mustered a wave… Damn…

6:29 p.m. – Okay… here’s a drop it’s Abigail Breslin. I have my Zombieland DVD cover for her.

She’s coming over to sign, but is going the other way… NOOOOOOOO… She’s signing a lot though….

6:30 p.m. – Yeah, we’re not getting Abigail… Ah well….

6:31 p.m. – Oh, Garry Marshall favorite Hector Elizondo is arriving. He’s coming over but is only signing for a hot second… I have my Pretty Woman poster out…

But… Well… He’s literally signing in one spot for a hot second. Lol… and that’s it.

6:32 p.m. – Well… Putting that Pretty Woman poster away for good now…

6:38 p.m. – Next is Zac Efron… Now, I have a couple magazines but I’m not like Dying for Zac. He’s coming right on over and starting to sign and going the other way… Damn… Really?

Oh I hope this isn’t a trend… We’re getting the shaft man!

6:42 p.m. – Okay some cars… and it’s Katherine Heigl! We’re yelling for her and she’s coming right over… Yay!

She’s signing and signing and it looks like she is going to skip us until the other Mike tells Katherine we keep getting skipped… lol… So she starts our way!

6:43 p.m. – I get Katherine on my W Magazine and it looks amazing… Even in this madness she still signs beautifully!

Then Katherine signs my Knocked Up mini poster as well… She is so sweet!

6:47 p.m. – Hilary Swank arrives now… And she’s just waving. We literally have to chant to get her to come over… Like CHANT! Finally we get her to come over and she signs for Mike next to me and then she signs my Boys Don’t Cry mini poster… She personalizes everything!

I think she signed like five autographs and ran back across the street… lol… Okay, can we say signing for the camera… lol…

6:51 p.m. – Sofía Vergara is here and she runs over and signs three autographs… Literally three… and runs back. I didn’t even get video… Wow… Just Wow…

6:55 p.m. – Holy fuck, there’s Michelle Pfeiffer… I throw CB my Married to the Mob mini poster and I have my Catwoman poster… We are all screaming our heads off… Mike is waving his one sheet like he just doesn’t care, I’m waving mine… And holy fuck… She’s coming over… Michelle heads straight to us and signs the poster CB has for me and then makes her way over to me…

I’m about to pass out… Literally she is picking what she wants to sign, but Michelle saw our posters and literally picked someone else’s thing off from on top of my mini poster, but she has blue and I need silver…

Michelle is about to sign MY BOARD not the poster…. THE BOARD… and I squealed… NO… Can you do it in silver PLEASE…? And God help me she smiled and grabbed my silver… Gave me such a beautiful signature… It’s a tiny bit off the poster, but it’s done… After 19 years this poster is done… She signs Mike’s next to me and then gives me the silver back, and I think I’m thanking her and thanking her and thanking her… But I honestly can’t remember much of anything…

6:59 p.m. – I’m going to pass out… Really…

7:01 p.m. – Ludacris just arrived and CB is now squealing… lol…

7:02 p.m. – Oh… There’s Josh Duhamel… he’s high fiving the line and running to the end… No Fergie though… Oh wait there’s Fergie…

I have my Life as We Know It mini poster for him…

7:03 p.m. – Shit, Josh stopped right as he got to me… Really dude?

Fergie is running over and they are doing photos in front of the fans… Okay… She’s not signing… I think she was high… lol…

7:05 p.m. – Glee star Lea Michele is here… She’s starting at the end and working her way down…

She’s been super nice lately… And she is doing one per person… I get her on my Glee mini poster… So, I’m happy… Can’t complain…

7:07 p.m. – She really did a lot… I’m impressed…

7:09 p.m. – Oh, and there’s Ashton Kutcher… He’s going down to the far end of the line… Wow, he’s going to do the whole thing… And damn he really is!

7:11 p.m. – Ashton is always pretty good at premieres and he’s signing up a storm and doing photos… He’s zipping though… He’s coming closer and I got him on my vintage Details magazine…

Of course he signed it in black on the black. Lol…

Then he did a photo and signed my Vintage Interview magazine and my No Strings Attached mini poster…

And then Ashton just continues to go down the line signing and signing and signing and signing… Damn… That’s so impressive.

Overall, even though I missed a couple people I’m super stoked… After 19 years I finally got Michelle Pfeiffer! YES! And thank you again to CB for the help. I’m super appreciative. And also to Mike for helping get Michelle over to our side with the giant poster! LOL… Wow… Now… I need to sleep!
