Mike The Fanboy’s Top 12 Movies To Watch On Mother’s Day! Don’t Forget To Call Your Mom Kids!
It’s Mother’s Day kids! Leave the computer on (set to Mike The Fanboy Hello!) and call your Mothers. Done? Good. Now, I have to tell you, I have been so fortunate in my life. I’ve been and am not surrounded by strong awesome women, and I know it’s always said, you can pick your friends but you can’t pick your family. Well, I think I would actually pick my family as crazy as they may be. Lol…
And when it comes to Mom’s I’m blessed as all hell. My Mom is a tad crazy, but she always adds spice to anyone’s life. However, it was when my Dad passed away she stepped up to the plate. Not only did she raise my little sister (which wasn’t the easiest thing, lol…) but she went to work, taught herself a skill, and currently, after working full time opened up a side business! If you’re ever in Kentucky I’ll give you the address. LOL…
She is quite impressive and I’m very proud of her. So, with her in mind I put together a fun list of the top movies to watch this Mother’s Day. It’s more of a list with an edge… This is Mike the Fanboy for God Sakes!
So, here is the Mike the Fanboy list of the top 12 Mother’s Day movies!
12. Mamma Mia
While I would rather vomit than watch this again, it’s all about the mom’s here and even though no one in the movie can sing sans Amanda Seyfried it’s fun to have on in the background.
11. Baby Mama
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are the best female team in ages. This is a little seen underappreciated comedy about the length a women goes through to be a Mom! And it’s pretty damn funny.
10. Mommie Dearest
You think you have it bad with your family, oh hell! No more wire hangers! You might actually go to your closet and get rid of all the wire hangers in your house just to make sure no one comes in and beats you with the alleged wire hangers!
9. Freaky Friday
Ahhhh When Lindsay Lohan looked cute. Seriously though, this is such a cute movie. Jamie Lee Curtis is great as a teenager trapped in the body of a mom and who hasn’t wanted to live at least a day in another persons shoes!
8. Grease 2
I’m going to get some crap for this but think about it. Even Mom’s are looking for their cool rider and want to be a girl for all seasons. Plus, it’s Michelle Pfeiffer in a pink satin jacket.
7. Wildcats
An oldie but a goodie! Goldie Hawn plays a mom who has to coach a football team. It’s so fun but shows a lot about how mom’s can pretty much do anything they set their minds to.
6. Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Does this need an explanation? Linda Hamilton literally fights off liquid metal machines to save her son and the world in the process. I mean that’s dedication folks.
5. Throw Mamma From The Train
Cause let’s be honest at times haven’t we all wanted to toss our Mom’s off a moving vehicle no matter how much we love them? Really?
4. Mask
When Cher has to fight for Eric Stoltz who has a horrible make up job, it really does warm everyone’s hearts. That and she needs to get Eric Stoltz a make over but that’s beside the point.
3. Chocolat
My mom used to make Easter chocolate every year. I started to hate the smell of chocolate! But I’ll tell you the extra cash she raised bought me lots of toys… Ah childhood…
2. Serial Mom
Because I’m sure every mom wants to go batshit crazy and murder everyone in town with a ham bone. I can totally see it. Really I think every mom is a hair away from snapping. Maybe seeing this film will help push those murderous feelings down a tad bit!
1. Steel Magnolias
Who doesn’t love this movie? Where Julia Roberts makes the ultimate sacrifice for her child. Cutting off her long auburn hair. That short do just doesn’t work, yet Julia tries to sport it like a pro. God bless you Julia for your sacrifice!
