As you all know, Adventures in Babysitting is one of my favorite films and this past weekend was a rare q and a featuring Keith Coogan, Maia Brewton and the writer of the film David Simkins. It’s really one of the best movies to come out of the late 1980s and has been a staple in my DVD collection for years.
Check out Pinky’s recap below!
Hello, my lovelies. Pinky Lovejoy-Coogan here still jazzed after Keith’s super fun babysitting double feature at the Egyptian theater in Hollywood on Friday night. We had a great time!
Not only did we get to meet so many amazing fans, but we also had a lot of friends and family come out and had a blast! Keith was joined by both the awesome writer, David Simkins, and the lovely Maia Brewton, who played Sara in the film. It was so neat to meet both David and Maia and especially to get to watch the movie with them nearby. Every time Sara did something adorable (which, let’s face it, is most of the movie), I wanted to reach over and pat Maia’s head (don’t worry, I didn’t). She looks exactly the same! Those beautiful big brown eyes and giant smile – she and Keith could be siblings in real life!
It was a really fun time. Keith’s mom brought him a Best Babysitter trophy
and some fans even came out in cosplay from the movie – how cool is that?
The Q&A was great –
did you know David Simkins had a cameo in the film? He was the guy with the glasses in the frat scene with George Newbern. We learned so many things!
We loved seeing so many friends and fans there –
it was a really special night. Thank you to everyone who came out and especially to Cinematic Void for hosting the event.
