Oliver 45th Anniversary Screening! Erica Meets Oliver Himself Mark Lester! Shani Wallis! Ron Moody! Autographs! And More!
There’s one thing I love about fandom… Everyone has things they love. Me, I choose the filmography of Shelley Long… or perhaps The Facts de Life… The Lovely Erica? She loves her movie musicals!
The cast of one of the most iconic movie musicals had a reunion and Erica was on hand!
Check out her full recap after the jump!

Of the golden age of Hollywood movies there were many great musicals, but Oliver! has a special place in my heart. It’s the movie I saw over and over again as a kid and it features an outstanding soundtrack with songs that everybody knows: Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, I’d Do Anything. Watching that movie is just a string of fabulous songs. It really does deserve the exclamation point in the title!
For it’s 45 anniversary, the leads from the cast reunited for a screening of the film. All the way from England, we had Mark Lester (the angelic Oliver), Shani Wallis (feisty Nancy) and Ron Moody (rascally Fagan).
Before the show, there was a meet and greet with the cast in great spirits and chatting happily with the crowd and with each other.
Mark was friendly and surprisingly normal — a prime example of a well-adjusted former kid actor. A miracle in this day and age…(cough! Miley!)
Shani is feisty and friendly as Nancy ever was.
At 89 years old, Ron Moody was moving a bit slower, but had a kind smile for everyone.
If you ever wondered “Where is love?” it’s all over my poster!
A fun encounter for a movie I didn’t think I would ever get signed. It just goes to show you should always keep an eye out for great opportunities.

Great poster!!
I missed Mark at the Hollywood Show – every time I went to his table, he wasn’t there. Must be because they never get a break, right Wil Wheaton?
Sad that you miss him! We talked to him for quite some time – just a remarkably normal guy!
I was glad to see that Ron Moody, who’s almost 90, kept up with fans…he must have super stamina compared to those who find meeting fans particularly bothersome.
