OMG! I Cut My Foot Before and My Shoe Is Filling Up With Blood Because I Was So Excited To Meet Romy and Michele Star Mira Sorvino!

One of my favorite movies of all time is Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion. It’s not a perfect movie but I love it. lol… I mean Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino are so good, I mean they are perfect. I wish the movie had done better at the box office, but you know sometimes it’s those kind of films that while not hitting a mass audience are remembered in the hearts of fans everywhere.

Scotty is also a huge fan of Romy and Michele and when I heard that Mira Sorvino was going to be out and about I knew I had to call Scotty and head out. I never hear of Mira being out and about so I’m hoping that she shows up! LOL… Tonight is an event called Paul Sorvino sings, and since Paul is her father logically… You would think that Mira would be there… But… This is La La Land and you just never know!

6:56 p.m. – We just showed up and after a quick stop at Subway we walked over to the theatre.

7:01 p.m. – There are two other collector’s here, I wasn’t expecting a lot of people, I mean Mira Sorvino isn’t a huge star, so you know…

7:08 p.m. – There are some people wandering in.

7:11 p.m. – I brought my Romy and Michele laserdisc as well as a mini poster. I have more Romy and Michele memorabilia but I figure if I can get a couple things signed I’ll be happy… Plus a picture… heh heh heh…

7:19 p.m. – Scotty and I are hanging out… There are a couple people the collector’s got to sign but we have no idea who they are lol…

7:32 p.m. – Hmmmm there’s a red carpet but no sign of Mira… Man oh man… She was on the list so I’m hoping that she actually comes…

7:39 p.m. – It’s getting a tad chilly…. Sadness..

7:44 p.m – Wow, still no sign of Mira… The show starts at 8:00 so I’m hoping she actually comes…

7:46 p.m. – There is a young girl dressed in a giant purple dress…. I mean like a prom purple dress… It’s like the purple people eater just devoured her… that or Grimace just exploded all over her…

7:51 p.m. – Oh, I see the other collector’s moving… I’m heading to see the commotion… Holy crap, there she is! It’s Mira Sorvino! Scotty and I take out our stuff. Mira is a tad standoffish but still quite cordial. Scotty and I kind of geek out and tell Mira how much we love Romy and Michele. Mira signs my mini poster and then I ask her to personalize my laserdisc as well.

She is so nice and actually writes Romy underneath her name! Stoked! Then I asked for a photo, and Mira says, “okay.” My God, she said it just like Romy. I’m a giant dork I know but really she did. lol…

A quick, simple nice night. I love nights where everything works out! Whoo hoo!
