Outlander media blitz for season 2 begins!! Set your DVRs! Signed giveaway!
We’re in the Droutlander home stretch! Only 11 more sleeps until the second season of Outlander premieres on Starz on April 9th! It’s time to prep for all things Outlander so mark your calendars now!
First off, Starz is letting non-subscribers binge the stellar first season so it’s a great way to warm up. There’s been a slew of book-to-TV adaptions since Outlander first aired and there’s nothing like decent to bad adaptions to make you appreciate how lucky we are that this show is spot-on and terrific.
Another way to warm up? Enjoy the media blitz!
TV Guide was the first publication to feature Outlander on a cover last season. They are, once again, featuring Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan on a cover for this season! Be on the lookout for this to hit newsstands soon. It’s a double issue so it should be around for a while.
After huge sales for the Outlander Entertainment Weekly issue, I think the mainstream press finally gets that Outlander is big news. This season, Caitriona and Sam will be making the press rounds in Los Angeles and New York. While we can’t all be at these events, here’s a schedule on how you can also watch all the fun!
Thursday 3/31
Late Late Show with James Corden (CBS 12:37 AM on Friday /11:37 PM on Thursday Central)
Sam Heughan will make his US late night TV chat show debut!
Monday 4/4
Outlander season 2 world premiere
The cast and creatives will all be there with the exception of Diana Gabaldon who can’t travel that week. Last year Starz Periscoped the premiere so there may be a way to see some of this live.
Want to attend and meet Caitriona? There’s a pair of tickets up for grabs in a charity auction to support World Child Cancer. Only 2 days left to bid!
Tuesday 4/5
The Television Academy (aka The Emmys) is hosting an Outlander panel to discuss the new season. The panel will be live streamed (click here) at 7:30 Eastern.
The panel features Ron Moore, Maril Davis, Terry Dresbach (costumes), Jon Gary Steele (production designer), Bear McCreary (composer), Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, and Tobias Menzies.
As a bonus, Bear will be giving a mini-concert of some of the new themes from the season!!
Wednesday 4/6
Today Show (9 AM to 10 AM on NBC)
Caitriona Balfe will be making her US chat show debut!
Thursday 4/7
USA Today video chat (7 PM – go to their website for the link)
Diana Gabaldon will be chatting via video. You can go to the website now and submit questions for this event.
Friday 4/8
Live with Kelly and Michael (syndicated so time and stations vary)
Sam Heughan makes his daytime debut!
Saturday 4/9
New York Tartan Day Parade
Grand Marshall Sam Heughan
What a way for NYC to celebrate Outlander’s premiere! A flood of Outlander fans (and Heughan’s Heughligans) marching down the streets of NYC behind Sam! There’s a fun day ahead for those who are able to make it to NYC. While there is no live stream, expect flood of photos from all the lucky fans that day!
There may be more interviews and events so I’ll update as new information comes out. Woo hoo!
Since we can’t all be there, how about a little Outlander giveaway to pass the time? To celebrate the start of the season, we’re giving away an Outlander prize pack with a SIGNED book by Diana Gabaldon. The giveaway also includes our last Outlander shirt, a collection of Outlander promo postcards (including the early teaser logo), a tartan bandana, Pocket Jamie, bookmarks and pin.
This giveaway is US only and will run until April 19th. Just fill out the rafflecopter below to enter!

Best way to survive Droughtlander is to reread and rewatch EVERYTHING Outlander!de
I’m surviving Droughtlander by watching Season 1 all over again.. I’ve done this a few times already. Also trying to get friends and family into the show too so I have someone to get excited with. And of course re reading all of Diana Gabaldon’s incredible books that started it all.. which was something I’ve done as a big fan before the show every so often. The show has taken my Outlander obsession to new heights. I was nervous about them getting it right.. but they did an amazing job.
Best way to pass time while floating in Droughtlander dream time is rereading all the books!!
Great write up! #obsessable
Thanks Mike the fan boy for posting all the Outlander Season 2 Promotional blitz ! I’m truly excited after such a long & depressing #Doughtlander.
