Paleyfest 2013! The Big Bang Theory Panel! With Jim Parsons! Johnny Galecki! Kaley Cuoco! Simon Helberg! Kunal Nayyar! Mayim Bialik! Melissa Rauch! Autographs! Photos! More!by mike on Mar 14, 2013 • 2:02 pm 5 Comments
It all started with a Big Bang… BANG!
Those were the sentiments from the packed Saban Theater in Beverly Hills where the cast of The Big Bang Theory gathered for the 2013 Paleyfest.
Billy Beer and I were on hand for the sold out event where not a seat was left in the house. Damn… I’ve been a fan of The Big Bang Theory for years and It was awesome to be in the house with all the rabid fans.
I was sporting my Wesley’s Crushers T-shirt
while Billy Beer partook in his namesake.
The panel consisted of
Chuck Lorre, Creator & Executive Producer Bill Prady, Creator & Executive Producer Steven Molaro, Executive Producer Johnny Galecki, “Leonard Hofstadter” Jim Parsons, “Sheldon Cooper” Kaley Cuoco, “Penny” Simon Helberg, “Howard Wolowitz” Kunal Nayyar, “Raj Koothrappali” Mayim Bialik, “Amy Farrah Fowler” Melissa Rauch, “Bernadette Rostenkowski”
The evening started with a best of clip show and then a sneak peak of the next episode.
Then the moderator, NCIS star Pauley Perrette took the stage and introduced all the cast members.
My first thoughts from the panel are that this cast actually likes each other which is rare and awesome to see especially after six seasons. Melissa Rauch is adorable and hysterical. I heart her. Jim Parsons has a very dry “Sheldon-esque” wit that is quite funny.
highlights of the panel:
Melissa Rauch doing Bernadette’s impression of Howard’s mother live. It was great. Her quote about Paley Center was awesome.
Kaley Cuoco put together the flash mob that’s on you tube. She’s very proud that everything worked out.
No one is ready to reveal Penny’s last name. It’s going to remain a mystery.
I think Kunal still knows all of his lines from past episodes as he’s able to recall them at a moments notice. Props bro!
The scenes of Howard in space were shot separately in a bike seat like contraption and then it was digitally removed.
Soft Kitty is a real song that was sung at Bill Prady’s daughters pre-school.
Everyone missed Simon when he did the space station scenes this past season.
Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik got really into their spanking scene.
The scene that Penny told Leonard she loved him…. It was done in one take. And Kaley said, “It was like the audience went away and it was just Johnny and I” It was very sweet.
The audience questions were okay, ranging from “Can I get a photo with you?” to “Can you sign my soft kitty” lol… Oh dear.. I hate when questions like that get asked.
Other questions were, “If you could have any guest star who would you choose?”
“What was it like working with Sara Gilbert again” Johnny answered that is was hard simply because he goes right back into his character from Roseanne. But he adores Sara.
At this point people were lining up on the side ready for the massive crush that Paleyfest is known for.
The final question was asked and off we went. Billy and I had really great seats (thanks again Billy) and we were able to get right up front.
The cast wasn’t signing as much as other cast members but thank God we were in the right spot.
The first person I was able to get was Mayim Bialik. I have a bunch of stuff for her but I didn’t want to pull out the more delicate items. I had my board game that Mayim Bialik generously finished
and then I asked her to sign my Comic Con mini poster as well. She was moving pretty fast, and then right next to her was Simon Helberg. I had him sign my… well… what I call my peanut poster and then my comic con mini poster as well.
Literally Jim Parsons was right back to back with them. He was very nice and signed my “peanut” poster and my comic con poster as well.
Kaley Cuoco was right after and signed my Comic Con mini poster and my 2011 comic con mini poster too. So far, it’s fast but I’m getting a couple each.
Johnny Galecki is here and I had him sign both Comic Con mini posters.
Melissa Rauch is literally the last person on the stage. She signed my 2 comic con mini posters and went down to the end of the line.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t even see Kunal, I’m sure he signed because he’s super nice but he didn’t make it over to us.
I was so lucky to be in a good spot. I know a lot of people didn’t get them because they signed so so fast. I have no complaints.
This was a pretty crazy Paleyfest night!
On a side note Johnny Galecki did sign outside and I was able to get a couple more posters signed thanks to an awesome MTF reader and I honestly can’t remember her name! But thanks again! That was very sweet!
I’m going to recuperate!
Until next time kids…
