People Like Us World Movie Premiere Report! Chris Pine Success! But Michelle Pfeiffer and Elizabeth Banks Diss! Doh! Autographs! Photos and more!

Can I just tell you how much I despise traffic… In LA it’s something we deal with but LA on a friday night… Ugh… Scotty warned me that it was bad, but I didn’t know it was THIS bad… I mean this is horrific bad! All in the name of loving Ms.Michelle Pfeiffer! Today is the premiere of People Like Us, which is part of the LA Film Festival. Now, last year it was a decent event but this year it’s not as good, not as close, too much traffic, etc… Ugh… But still with a rare Michelle Pfeiffer premiere you have to go. Especially since Michelle has been so good about signing at her last two premieres, New Year’s Eve and Dark Shadows…

I’m crossing my fingers today will be the same.

6:35 p.m. – So, I’ve been in traffic for an hour and 20 minutes. The premiere starts at 7:00 and I’m still five miles away. Five miles is nothing, but in LA that can be three hours… ugh… I will not stress, I will not stress…

6:55 p.m. – I am literally a half block from the premiere and I’m tempted to just put the car in park and walk away. Would that really be so bad? Do, I need a car? Grumble…

7:02 p.m. – I forked over 10 bucks for parking and am headed down to the premiere. Sigh.. I don’t think I’ve ever been this late before.

7:09 p.m. – I see Scotty and say hi. He has been out for Michelle… I think this third time and he’s been unlucky in his quest. Grumble. I feel bad for him. He’s been trying to get his One Fine Day laserdisc signed for eons!

7:15 p.m. – No arrivals just yet… I’m thinking Michelle will do a small section and Chris Pine will sign. Elizabeth Banks will most likely not even wave. I have a W Magazine and Witches of Eastwick mini poster for Michelle and two magazines from last year for Chris Pine.

7:19 p.m.- Oh, and there’s a car. Holy shit it’s Michelle!

We all yell for her, call for her, chant for her…

It looks like she’s going to come over and then… She turns to go on the carpet. Denied!

Doh… Poor Scotty! I feel so bad, I know he really wanted her.

7:22 p.m. – Bummer. Not only did I want something signed clearly, but I really wanted Scotty to get his laser disc done. Dammit!

7:26 p.m. – There’s Chris Pine! He’s coming right on over.

Chris is usually really good at premiere’s but you have to be in the front generally and have your stuff down.

He doesn’t sign up on the top very often. Chris s signing down the line and moving really fast.

Scotty didn’t bring anything so he’s getting my GQ magazine signed for me. Chris sees the magazine and goes right for it! Nice…

7:27 p.m. – I’m trying to get my magazine in through the row of people but Chris keeps moving a tad too fast. Oh well.

Thankfully Scotty helped me out. I need to start a payroll for him since he helps me so often.

7:36 p.m. – I think we might wait for Michelle to leave… I dunno…

7:41 p.m. – Oh, Elizabeth Banks just showed up.

I don’t really understand why she’s so mean to fans. I mean getting a wave from Elizabeth is tough, and even Natalie Portman will do that! In true Banks fashion she won’t even look over at us until finally she gives into the chanting and sighs and then looks over and gives us a wave.

LOL…Ohhhh a wave from Elizabeth Banks! I can die happy. Sorry, but come on. It’s not like Elizabeth Banks is a household name. If you asked the average person in Arizona no one would know who Elizabeth Banks was! Ah well….

7:56 p.m. – We’re just hanging out now and watching the carpet. I’m bitching about spending 10 bucks on parking and getting the shaft. lol…

8:09 p.m. – It looks like the carpet is wrapping up… Suddenly, Scotty goes… “She’s leaving” and runs down to the end of the barricade. I go right after him and sure enough there’s Michelle about to get into her car… Well, I should rephrase she’s waiting for her car. lol… The car isn’t there yet… We keep chanting and yelling for her… Nadda…

8:12 p.m. – Still yelling for Michelle. She’s with David E. Kelly her husband and they have positioned Michelle so no one can see her even though we know she’s there..

8:15 p.m. – The car is pulling up… Dammit… I thought we might have a chance… Michelle and David stop to pose for another photo and then jump into the car…

Scotty’s One Fine Day laserdisc will be signed another day I suppose… Sadness…

And that as we say is that. Like Scotty said, we can’t really be mad at Michelle. She’s been so good about signing at her premiere’s lately I’m not going to bash her by any means. In fact I think this year Michelle has signed more than I have ever seen. But still when you go out and don’t get something you’re disappointed. Elizabeth Banks on the other hand is just proving herself to be nastier and nastier with each passing encounter. Man oh man!
