Photo Flops! Karalee Says Hello To Her Mother For Me! Meeting Marky Mark Wahlberg… But Her Photo… Doh! She’s Not Feeling It! Feeling It!

Can I tell ya, I really enjoy Marky Mark Wahlberg and every time I see him, I just whip out some of my vintage collection to get signed. What can I say right?

I love a lot of things in life: my family, boyfriend, friends, and Michigan State (my alma mater) are no-brainers. But I also love discounted shoes, sending (and receiving) cards in the mail, and Thai fried rice. As you can see, I’m a deep and complex woman. Also high up on the love-list is scoring a great photo with a celeb I adore.

Since moving to L.A. late last year, I’ve enjoyed so much heading out to movie premieres, talk shows and events where I know celebs I’ve long loved will be attending. It’s so fun for me to see them up close, maybe exchange a “hi” or two, and if I’m really lucky, get them to pause for a photo with me.

One such person who stopped, posed and made my day last month was Mark “Marky Mark” Wahlberg. It was my first time meeting him and he was so nice, and just as adorable (i.e. HOT!) as I thought he would be. It was my first successful “selfie” and I was so giddy to get him.

I recently found myself at the premiere for his new movie “Pain and Gain.” But truth be told, I wasn’t necessarily there for him. One of my very best friends back home in Michigan (hi Val!) is a HUGE Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson fan and I really wanted to try and get his autograph for her (I wasn’t able to get him at “G.I. Joe.”). I debated but ultimately decided to try, and I knew Mike and Billy Beers would be there and I try never to miss an opportunity when Mike and I can gang up on Billy. It helps pass the time till arrivals begin.

(Editor’s Note: I would never gang up on.. Oh who am I kidding! M-)

Once Mark arrives, it’s a bit of chaos, everyone screaming, hoping he’ll cross the street to the fans. Because he’s so awesome, he, of course, does — and proceeds down the entire street, signing autographs, posing for pictures, the works. Man, I love that Boston boy.
As Mark nears our section, I snag an autograph for one of Mike’s (48) magazine covers and then ask Mark if I can get a quick photo.

(Editor’s Note: Ummm It’s 46 magazine covers and I have them stored in the Marky Mark drawer thank you very much! M-)

(Oh, I should take a moment to point out, that while waiting for arrivals, I practiced talking selfies with my camera. I must have taken 10 pictures, trying to find the best angle, height, etc. to ensure a successful pic.) Mark kindly says yes, pauses and I click away. I thank him, and he’s off, down the line, continuing to sign and greet fans.

I turn the camera around to check out my exciting second photo op with Marky Mark and I see this:
Yup, my friends. Yours truly had the zoom on. Grrr!!!!! Really, dummy?!?! Ugh!!!! The only thing that kept me from leaping the barricade (other than being arrested) was that I already had one great pic with him. Maybe that’s enough. Or maybe I’m just an idiot and need to try better the next time. And I have no doubt, there will be a next time.
