Oh Pinky, you’re so fine you’re so fine you blow my mind! Oh Pinky! To celebrate the return of one of Pinky’s favorite television series, Mad Men she decided to do a “Meet the Cast of Mad Men round up! We all love Mad Men… I adore it, one of the best shows ever on the air.
Anyway, Pinky has put together an awesome recap! Check it out after the jump!
Hello, my lovelies. Pinky Lovejoy here to talk about one of my all-time favorite shows in the world. I currently have a Top Five list of TV shows that I triple love which are (in no particular order): Grey’s Anatomy, Mad Men, True Blood, Downtown Abbey, and Once Upon a Time. I’ve been lucky to meet a majority of the casts from Grey’s Anatomy, True Blood, and Mad Men, but still have a long way to go on Downtown Abbey and Once Upon a Time. Oh, well. Gives me something to strive for, right? After last week’s sad tale about Jerry Seinfeld, I thought we’d change the tone a bit and talk about my great experiences with the cast Mad Men, which FINALLY returned to TV last night after an agonizing 17-month hiatus. Hooray!
One of the first premieres I was able to attend after moving back to California was the Mad Men season four premiere. Having just burned through all three seasons on DVD, I was SO excited to see these characters I loved in person – especially Don Draper (OK, fine, Jon Hamm). I was thrilled to see that Pete Campbell wasn’t really a slimeball in person and that Peggy was hot. And despite the throngs of people clamoring for him, Jon Hamm took a hot minute and stopped to pose with me. Granted, it’s not the greatest picture I’ve ever seen, but after waiting all day, I was happy for anything. Don Draper, people! Don Draper!
Over the past year and a half, I’ve been lucky enough to see various cast members at different events – especially at the Emmys. I now have two or three pictures with almost all the entire cast – well, with the exception of January Jones who keeps eluding me (fingers crossed that she somehow passes me on the street someday and asks me to take a picture with her – ha!). Here’s the exciting part – I’ve selected my fave pic with each cast member to share with you (except for Jon Hamm – I couldn’t pick just one, so you get to see all three).
I’m letting Mikey decide if he wants to post every picture, or just the main cast. Knock on wood, but aside from being trampled for Jon at the most recent premiere and missing January every time, I’ve had really good experiences with the cast. Even when Jon is bombarded, he’s nice – at the most recent premiere, he said, “I can’t do pictures tonight, darlin’” (did you hear that? Don Draper called me darlin’ – insert swoon here). Matthew Weiner, the creator and therefore genius, is incredible. I love him. OK, fine, I love them all.
