Return of the Living Dead Reunion! Ace Heads To The 30th Anniversary Screening! Hollywood Horrorfest! Photos! Autographs! And More!

What’s up autograph fanatics! Ace here with my recap of the 30th Anniversary Return of the Living Dead Reunion…

If you haven’t seen the film, this was the horror film that introduced the universal idea of zombies eating brains. Originally zombies only ate human flesh. As gory as that sounds, the film impacted the horror community and still has a pretty large cult following.

We showed up at the event around two hours early. Tons of friends and fanboys arrived from all over: DVD Dave, Big Mike, Robert, Chris, Alex, Moz, and DW. Of course, as always, I am the subject of all jokes being told. I guess it passes the time… for them. The event had started and the guests had not arrived. We honestly thought no one was showing up. We carefully watched both sides. The street was incredibly packed and the crowd was in a rather joyous mood.

John Philbin and Jewel Shepard were the first to arrive. They signed in the middle of the street as the sidewalk was packed from one corner to another.

John was super nice and signed everything and anything someone put in front of him. He was so thrilled people were asking him, he asked several of his friends to take photos of him signing as well as the interaction taking place.

Jewel Shepard was also signing away. She was not signing as much as John was, but she still did it. She was a little bit buzzed if you catch my drift. She was signing things twice… and quickly got frustrated and gave up. Many people either got her on everything or didn’t get her at all…

Beverly Randolph arrived shortly after… She was so amazingly sweet! She was such a nice person. Signed everything!

Within minutes, standing to Beverly’s left was James Karen. He immediately started signing. We all told him that it was an extreme honor and thanked him several times. He was so nice. It seemed like he really enjoyed himself.

When he started signing, it was probably the biggest crowd that surrounded anyone. Many people needed him to complete cast pieces with just his signature. At one point, one of the volunteers grabbed the pen out of his hand after asking James to stop signing multiple times. Alex was in the middle of getting his autograph before this happened. James grabbed that pen back and started signing away once again. It was pretty cool…

Brian Peck showed up and immediately started to sign… He assured everyone that he would get to everyone’s items. He inscribed his character name or drew little skulls… Just super cool…

Many more people attempted to get Jewel before she walked into the theatre… She promised to do it on the way out…

Robert Craighead signed after the Q & A ended… He signed everything and inscribed everything… Happy to sign…

Return of the Living Dead 30th Anniversary Screening

William Stout, famous for the creature designs in Predator, came out and was thrilled to sign everything we had. If it weren’t for DW who pointed him out, we would not have spotted him. It was just a great autograph to add to the cast piece. I only wish that I would had the Mist or my House posters to add him to them…

Tony Gardner, famous for doing the special effects and make-up in hundreds of horror films, also came out of the event shortly after Stout. He signed everything before some of the actors came out of the theatre. He was also as nice as someone could be…

Return of the Living Dead 30th Anniversary Screening

Beverly Randolph and James Karen signed a ton more as they walked out… and Jewel Sheppard signed maybe two autographs before running and yelling that she had to go… Regardless, it was an amazing little event…

Well, I hope you enjoyed this recap guys…

Now, remember, there is always a graphing opportunity out there… You just have to find it.

Until Next time,

Ace, the Autograph Addict
