Well… Stick a fork in it, doh!
Dallas the TNT reboot that starred the late Larry Hagman, and Patrick Duffy, is heading to the television graveyard.
TNT officially announced the series will not be back for a fourth season. The finale saw the death of a major character in Jessie Metcalfe’s Christopher Ewing. But the ratings didn’t go up, they actually went down. Doh.
The series was a reboot of the classic series and starred original Dallas cast members along with a newer generation. It did well when it first premiered but this season the ratings crashed.
TNT said the following, “TNT has decided not to renew ‘Dallas.’ We are extremely proud of the series, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga, we want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show’s creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin. We especially want to thank the people of Dallas for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series.”
RIP Dallas… At least until the next reboot.
