Throwback Thurs! Russell Crowe! The Gladiator Star Was Super Nice Signing Autographs and Meeting Fans!

It’s Throwback Thurs! Today, I was thinking… I have no idea who to talk about…

I am one tired fanboy. It’s been a long long day for sure, but still we press on.

None other than Maximus himself was doing a q and a. Of course by Maximus, I mean Gladiator star Russell Crowe. I’m a huge fan of the Noah star and he was doing a q and a for his directorial debut, The Water Diviner.

I was going to go inside to the q and a but sadly I couldn’t make it in time, so I thought I would try my luck outside the event.

I have a Master And Commander mini poster I would love to get signed.

Scotty was coming with me and when we arrived there were only a couple other people waiting.

As the night descended more people started to arrive. It wasn’t bad to be honest, it was only like 10 people which isn’t bad.

The only thing is… We haven’t seen Russell Crowe arrive…. hmmmmmm, so we went to the front… And the car seems to be circling the building. It’s a little crazy, there’s only two ways in, the front and the back. And let’s face it, Russell Crowe would have to to walk through the audience to leave out of the front.

After walking to the front and to the back and then to the front again, finally the car pulled up in the back and we waited.

Lord!

Russell Crowe is a nice guy, I know people have a perception of him, but every time I’ve seen him, he’s always been very fan friendly. If he’s going to sign, he’ll sign. If he can’t he’ll just say he can’t. It’s pretty simple.

Security pulled the gate shut and we all lined up at the gate.

Russell Crowe left and we yelled for him.

He disappeared behind his car for a hot second, and then the hot second turned to minutes. The driver wasn’t in the car, so he was just hanging out there talking.

Then another car pulls up right behind the first car.. Hmmmm…

I’m not really sure what to make of it. Then suddenly Russell Crowe comes bursting over.

He says, “Alright, I’ll do one each. And if you run around and try to get another, I’m going to fucking ignore you.”

Damn. I think from someone other than Russell Crowe I would have been shocked, but he’s just talked straight and I love the fact that he lays out ground rules.

Russell then started telling everyone about how Gladiator was going to be rereleased in IMAX I believe and how excited he was for it. It was pretty cool to see.

True to his word, Russell signed one each down the line and was really cool.

He made a rough day way way better!

Plus, I got to see Susan and Anushika who were at the screening and both looked wonderful!
