The SAG Awards 2015! Ethan Hawke! Matthew McConaughey! William H. Macy! Julia Louis-Dreyfus! Eric Dane! Liev Schreiber! And More!
Last weekend was the annual SAG Awards. Thankfully, a few of the MTF crew were given tickets to the event. Big thanks to our friends at the awards show for hooking us up!
Erica, Billy, Scotty, Travis, Anushika, Big Mike and I headed over armed with posters, magazines and more.
To our shock, we got a special treat, Former MTF writer Karalee stopped by to say hi. After bugging her to get back in the writing game, we got to hang out and catch up.
We miss you Karalee!
Then we squished onto the bus and headed over.
Let me tell you, it’s a long exhausting day. Thankfully, when you with a crazy group of fanboys it’s a lot of fun as well.
The sun was blazing and we were all sweating to death. Bleh.
The air conditioning would come on in short bursts, and then we were sweltering to death.
The carpet was getting ready to be set up. People were milling all about.
Mario Lopez showed up wearing more makeup than a drag queen covering a mole.
He did come over and sign a couple index cards for some people.
Next year, I’m bringing a Saved by the Bell DVD… That means I would have to buy a Saved By The Bell DVD.
Some people walked by with large google like glasses.
The champagne toast occurred and the stars started to hit the carpet.
Time to get the voice in shape.
Billy got to meet some stars of Brooklyn 99
Then Orange Is The New Black star Alysia Reiner came over as well.
Gwendoline Christie from Game of Thrones is next. She is so sweet! She was happy to run on over!
I have a Game of Thrones counter standee for her to sign.
And then we spotted Boyhood star Ethan Hawke.
He was great and ran on over. Ethan signed my Details magazine and my Boyhood poster as well.
It’s madness. For every person who comes over, there are 15 who don’t. So, you just never know.
Amy Poehler… She pointed and walked off.
Kevin Costner said he would come over and then didn’t.
I mean, it’s impossible to really go into detail, simply because there’s no way to capture it all.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus was walking by and we yelled for her. Shockingly, she came on over and was super nice. I just finished Veep and loved it!
Julia Louis-Dreyfus was super cool.
Richard Jenkins came on over and was really cool. He signed by Six Feet Under promo poster.
Julianna Margulies was next and said, “I’m in a hurry guys, so one each!”
She looked amazing and signed by Good Wife promo set.
Tony Revolori from the Grand Budapest Hotel came over and was super nice.
Then Nikolaj Coster-Waldau ran on over. He looked great and signed a couple things for me. He was very cool.
Erica really wanted Tatiana Maslany. We’ve all heard she wasn’t super fan friendly, but today she came over with a smile and was happy to sign. She signed three things for Erica and signed my poster and press kit as well.
William H. Macy was super nice as usual and came over to sign. I had a couple presskits from Shameless he signed.
He couldn’t have been nicer!
Then Natalie Dormer from Game of Thrones came over.
Scotty yelled and yelled and yelled and yelled for Ellar Coltrane. He is the main subject of Boyhood. Ellar Coltrane wasn’t super nice but literally finally relented and came over sign for us. I think it was just to shut Scotty up.
Still, I was happy he signed by Boyhood poster!
Homeland star Mandy Patinkin was on the carpet and he ran over to signed a few things. It was like a whirl. I did get my Princess Bride counter standee signed though!
Finally, Matthew McConaughey was here! He is a really cool guy, and was happy to come over. I had a Dazed and Confused poster and here’s the best part of my day.
Matthew McConaughey and I literally had a conversation. I told Matthew McConaughey that Dazed was one of my favorite films of all time. He said, “You know, we’re doing a sequel.”
I said, “What? I haven’t heard anything about it!”
“Yeah, we shot it. It takes place the day before what happened in Dazed.”
“OMG! When’s it coming out?”
“Later on this year”
It was crazy. I’ve never had a conversation with Matthew McConaughey before. It was pretty cool.
Then we saw Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart. Eric came on over and Rebecca ran over too. She signed Scotty’s Jawbreaker DVD and was about to leave and I was like… “Noooooooo!”
She turned and said, “Oh, I have to sign Jawbreaker!” Love her!
Eric was really nice as well. He signed by The Last Ship presskit.
Liev Schreiber was there with his wife Naomi Watts. I had my Scream mini posters and we were yelling for Liev Schreiber. He motioned like, “How would I come over?” We pointed and he was like, “Okay.”
Liev Schreiber signed all three of the Scream films for me. He was really nice and has a great autograph.
Reese Witherspoon looked like she wanted to sign but didn’t. Even though I heard she did it farther down the line. Julia Roberts breezed in, Jennifer Aniston didn’t give people the time of day.
Michael Keaton didn’t even wave.
Felicity Jones ran over for a quick second and she signed my Theory of everything poster.
Meryl Streep gave the usual regal wave as she walked on by.
But I had a great time hanging with everyone.
Until next time kids…

Is that the girl who did that Pop Culture column? I remember her.
I liked that column.
Sounds like a chaotic mess!
Julia Roberts has always been nasty.
I call you out… Ms. Nasty pants
What have you heard about Tatiana Maslany not being super fan friendly? I’ve heard nothing but amazing things so I’m really curious. Not criticising anyone. Just curious. I really hope you don’t take this as me being critical.
Hey Rose,
All I’ve heard is that she’s not much into signing and that she doesn’t have much fan interaction. Based on what I’ve seen at SAG she was super cool. That was the only time I’ve ever met her, a bunch of people have told me about her not liking the autographs, etc…
Julia Louis-Dreyfus has amazing cleavage.
I think Tatiana is good with fans, but not autograph sellers. She made sure to personalize everything. Since I love the show, I was happy with that.
I’ve met her twice and she was terrific both times.
