Spending An Afternoon Getting To Meet Comedy Legend Ms. Lily Tomlin and Waiting For Clue: The Movie Star Ms. Eileen Brennan!

It’s a bright and sunny afternoon and Ms. Pinky and I are headed out to try and meet a couple screen legends. Now, I hate looking at lists and going to an event for just one person, but sometimes you have to do it. The person today is Ms. Eileen Brennan. Eileen and I live very close to each other and I have run into her a few times on the streets. We’ve become sort of friends, but I haven’t seen her lately so I thought this would be a good time to see her and get my rare Clue: The Movie promo mobile signed. I didn’t have it when I ran into her before as it was with my mom in Michigan.

Also on the bill today is comedy legend Lily Tomlin who I also love dearly. So, hopefully, I’ll have some success today.

11:43 a.m. – Ms. Pinky from Pretty in Pinky is here with me and we both just arrived. I honestly didn’t expect any one else to be here, but there are like 10 collectors/dealers. Man, it must be a slow day!

11:49 a.m. – No one has arrived yet. The guests that are arriving… Let’s just say they are not spring chickens.

11:53 a.m. – Pinky just spotted someone and she’s off… It’s the guy who played Karen Walker’s nemesis in Will and Grace… I can’t remember his name…

11:59 a.m. – Sigh… No Eileen Brennan yet….

12:03 p.m. – Lily Tomlin has arrived. She is as nice as can be. I’ll tell you, a class act all the way, and the thing that kills me is that I have a program from The Search For Intelligent Signs… I keep forgetting to pull out when she’s on a list. Not that I see Lily Tomlin all the time, but still.

I have my All Of Me mini poster for her today. Lily is so gracious and stops to sign for everyone even though the event starts in 10 minutes and she’s the main attraction.

Lily Tomlin signs my All Of Me Mini poster and grabs a quick photo with Pinky. She then signs a bunch of 8×10 photos for people before saying she has to head in. I would have gotten a photo but she seemed so rushed I didn’t want to bother her more than I already was. Damn me being polite!

12:08 p.m. – Pinky is freaking out over Sally Kellerman… I’m like Pinky, I don’t need her. For some reason Pinky thought I wanted Sally Kellerman, but i was like, “No! Eileen Brennan!” lol…

12:09 p.m. – If I did get Sally Kellerman I think I would have her sign a bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch salad dressing… That’s just how I roll.

12:21 p.m. – Damn, the event has started and no sign of Eileen Brennan. Pinky wants to call it, which is fanboy slang for calling the event done… I’m still holding out hope… I am, I really am!

12:32 p.m. – I’m getting the look… But you know people can just be running late…

12:45 p.m. – Yep, it’s done… We’re calling it. Ah well… Even though I didn’t seen Eileen it was a pleasure to meet Ms. Lily Tomlin. Such a class act and her autograph is simply gorgeous! Not like the chicken scratch you see from the “younger” stars… Oh God, now I sound all old and crusty… “Back in the day, you would get such nice autographs, not like these young whippersnappers!” lol…
