MTF RANT! Is Sylvester Stallone REALLY Charging $450 Bucks For A Photo Opp? REALLY! Come On!
Man oh man…
Okay, yeah… I like Sylvester Stallone as much as the next guy, even with his new face but $400 bucks for a quick photo opp… Really? I feel like this is a scene out of SNL with Seth Myers and Amy Poehler! Really? REALLY!
Are these people for real?
Now, I know how sports collectors feel. Every time there’s a signing with a sports celeb the prices are sky high! It’s impossible to be a fan anymore.
This is brought to you by “celebrity authentics” and according to When Nerds Attack they announced that “we will be changing the game!” Apparently that game change is gouging fans. That was an Erica quote! LOL…
Now, WNA emailed Celebrity Authentics and this is what they said…
Thank you for your interest in Celebrity Authentics and the talent we are bringing to the NYCC! Stallone with be at the show on Sunday only and doing autographs and photo ops that day. Autograph tickets are $395.00 and photo op tickets are $450.00. Tickets are limited to approximately 300 autographs and 150 photo ops. Chloe Mortez’s autograph tickets will cost $75.00 and photo ops will cost $95.00 each. We are unsure at this point if she will be there Saturday or Sunday. That will be confirmed soon and tickets will go on sale September 5th at 11:00am EST at www.celebrityauthenticstickets.com. Let us know if you have any other questions we can assist you with and we hope to see you in New York!”
OMG!
It’s like… “Well, do I want that photo with Stallone and his new face or make the car payment?” I get it, promoters, stars fees, etc… But really? Does Either Chloe or Stallone need the cash that bad?
Here’s an idea… At the end of every barricade let’s put a bucket and everyone can throw a couple bucks in it. This way we can get better autographs. As The Other Mike said to me, “You can get an “S” for free but if you want “Sly” then it’s $395!”
I guess what I don’t get why these guys are devaluing their brand like this. It literally makes them look desperate for cash. Oh you’re a fan and want a photo? $450 smackeros!
I guess Jackie Stallone’s jewelry on Home Shopping Network just isn’t selling as well as it used to.
And here’s the thing, I understand events and signings like this, and have no problem paying here and there at a show or con. However, to charge that much is just ridiculous.
I’m going to get that bucket, seriously. We’ll call it the signing bucket everyone can donate and then maybe Bruce Willis will actually sign for the fans waiting… OR maybe he’ll take the cash and run.
Yeah, he’ll take the cash and run…

Some stars think they are all that, his new face isn’t that great. Desperate people take desperate measures. What happened to serious skin care his wife sells? She has said her husband uses the olive oil religiuosly. Maybe his wife can be a discount for a bathtub full!
That $eriously $ucks. I hate when athletes do it, I hate when movie stars do it. They don’t owe us, but we spend a lot of time, give them a lot of adulation and respect, having never even met them in most cases, and that is not the best way to show appreciation to a respectful fan. It’s also kind of tacky, especially if you’re a multi-millionaire. We give them word-of-mouth, buy stuff they’re in or on, and even defend them whether they’re right or wrong aboot something. I give that the finger and say a hearty “fuck you” and “good day!”
I agree it sounds kind of desperate to me. Maybe their going broke from all that ridiculousness cosmetic work they got going on. It makes me sick when they do this. We made them! We went and seen their movies, bought merchandise, paid for autographs/photos, etc. I don’t even understand why any of them charge anything when their freaking millionaire/billionaires!! That’s at least they can do!! If I was famous I would sign a 50-100 free autographs a week for *FREE* and never charge!! Every time I see these posts from you, it just makes me lose respect for them. I never look at them the same again. BTW lol I love the collection jar!! You better keep a good eye on Willis and Stallone they’ll grab that jar and become Houdini on you!
Sadly, our hobby is just the latest “bubble”. In the late 80s until mid 90s it was sports cards, then it was sports autographs, then it was sports game used items now it is celebrity autographs and pics. New conventions pop up every week and more and more celebrities are going that route. These promoters and booking agents should be ashamed of themselves with the prices they charge. They hit you with an admission fee going in, F list “celebs” with one or two roles that anyone recalls charge 20 plus dollars for a sig even on your item and many hit you extra for the pic. Now you get former A Listers like Sly charging the equivalent of a car or mortgage payment just to get a sig after you spend $50 bucks to get into the con, $5 on the pic your getting signed and he has the nerve to ask for another mortgage payment just for a pic with him that has NO resale value. Even more disturbing is those who pay it. Are insta gram bragging rights really worth $450?
Think about how the musicians charge 250.00, 450.00 or sometimes thousands bucks to get a autograph and that is just to say hey and here is a laminate whatever we can include to make the package look good and they aren’t just big stars they can be has beens too. People love make money because it makes the bank accounts bigger and fans are dumb enough to pay for it because I have seen these type of things sell out so obviously they know what they are doing.
I wouldn’t walk across the street for a FREE photo OP with Stallone.
Let us say that there’s someone out there that wants a Stallone autograph so badly that he’s willing to spend the $395 to get it. For that kind of money, you’d want some kind of proof that the autograph is genuine. How about taking a picture of Stallone as he’s signing the autograph?
From the Celebrity Authentics’ “Information” page on their website:
“May I take a picture of the actors while they sign?
“At the request of their publicists, we ask that you do not take pictures of the actors while you are inline waiting or while you meet them. They have graciously made time to attend and the efforts of the publicist are to avoid the misuse and abuse of possible images. Please note this rule will be strictly enforced.”

Uh, do their publicists understand that having to pay $395 to get an autograph doesn’t exactly bolster the image of their client in the eyes of the general public?
