As far as shows go, there’s very few series on TV that have grown over the course of their run as Teen Wolf. Starting off it was a fun series but it really grew into it’s own with season 2 and beyond.
The cast too to the stage at Paleyfest 2015 including Holland Roden, Tyler Posey, Dylan O’Brien, Arden Cho, Shelley Hennig, Dylan Sprayberry, creator Jeff Davis and special guest Crystal Reed.
The panel was lively and Tyler Posey was the most energetic panel participant I’ve personally ever seen. He really livened up to proceedings.
The biggest reveal of the night was that Tyler Hoechlin (Derek) is no longer a series regular on the show. Sadly, he couldn’t be there tonight which was a disappointment. Derek was my favorite character, and so bummed he’s going to leave. It was Tyer Hoechlin who came to Jeff Davis and asked to leave the series to do more indie film work.
Jeff did say that Derek would still be on the show in some capacity.
“While Tyler Hoechlin wont be a series regular anymore, you have not seen the last of Derek Hale,” Davis said. “[Tyler and I] met a couple weeks ago to talk about possible storylines.”
When talking about the new season Jeff said “It’s all about the senior year, and it’s about the fear of losing your friends after graduation.”
The new season will refocus on the relationship between Scott and Stiles and reframe the series in the new season.
It was really nice to look back however and have Crystal Reed look back on her time on Teen Wolf. She was very nice and said how she misses Allison.
Crystal and Tyler talked about that final moment and how hard it was to say goodbye to Allison in those final moments.
Crystal Reed has been on the series since the first season and her death was the most shocking moment of last season.
In terms of Lydia, she is one, amazing but her lovelife has been sketchy at best. Will she find love this season? “She may not end up with the person you think she does at first.” Jeff said… Ohhhhh that sounds like some drama!
The audience questions consisted of what crossover with any other show you would like to see. Arden Cho mentioned Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and Tyler and Dylan O’Brien both said “Friends” at the same time.
It was a really fun panel, that may have gotten off track at times, but it was great to see the cast outside the world of Teen Wolf.
After the panel the rush to the stage was on.
Susan, Billy and I had some various stuff to get signed. I had a Teen Wolf mini poster and the promo Bestiary SDCC promo.
Crystal Red was the first to come to our side and she was super cool. She signed my poster and book. Even looking through the book because she never saw it. I don’t think Crystal signed that much.
Shelley Hennig was next and was so great. She signed both of my pieces and really was trying to cover a lot of ground.
Tyler Posey ran to our side and was awesome. He really cares about his fans. He signed both things for me, Susan and Billy got him as well. In fact, when security tried to get him to leave he was like, “Why? I want to stay!”
Dylan O’Brien signed a bit but on the other side of the stage so I couldn’t get near him. :/
Dylan Sprayberry signed a few but again, I couldn’t get down to him.
Arden Cho came over to our side and was being really cool. She signed my poster and I had her sign the book when I ran to the end of the stage to get Holland Rodan.
Speaking of Holland, she was taking her time and signing as much as possible. It was for the left part of the stage, but I ran around and was able to get her on my poster, which was cool.
And that… As we say is that.
Again, the people in the first seven rows could get to the stage, I’m not sure how that was after I was at the stage. So, hopefully everyone had a good time.
Until next time kids…
