Throwback Thurs! The Go-Go’s VIP Meet And Greet Awesomeness! Belinda Carlisle! Jane Wiedlin! Charlotte Caffey! Gina Schock! Autographs! Photos And More!
The Go-Go’s just wrapped up their final tour with an awesome show at the Greek. I had a blast! So… I thought it was only fitting for Throwback Thurs to talk a little bit about The Go-Go’s! Swoon!
this was one of the most fun days ever. I was with Pinky and we just had such a nice time!
Check out the recap below!
Everybody… Get on your feet… We know… You can dance to the beat!
Sigh, can I tell you how much I love The Go-Go’s! They have been part of my musical diet for years and years. When I heard that they were going to be playing the Hollywood Bowl, I knew I had to be there. I talked to my friend Pinky and we decided to splurge and get the meet and greet tickets for the show. After all, these are The Go-Go’s! Hello!
The big day finally arrived and we arrived to the Bowl on time and grabbed our tickets. We were told to wait by the Box Office and we would be led to the backstage area to meet the band.
I was sad to learn that Kathy Valentine was injured and would not be at the show tonight. Still, I knew it was going to be amazing.
After 45 minutes everyone waiting started to get concerned and we grabbed someone from the venue to find out. She led us backstage where the Meet and Greet was already underway! DOH!
They lined everyone up for the group photo. Honestly, I didn’t have much time to even adjust to the fact that I would be meeting all The Go-Go’s, which in hindsight was probably a good thing. First we were told that the autograph signing was over and we missed it, I was like, “Oh hell no!” But then we were informed that everything would be taken care of in true Go-Go’s fashion.
Pinky went first and got her group photo but her camera died and she used mine instead. The girls were so nice and cordial. It’s very hard to make a meet and greet like this personal but everyone did their best.
Then it was my turn and I was… Let’s just say, it was quite an awesome experience. It was super fast, but getting a group photo was surreal!
Then we lined up again for the autograph signing. I brought my original Rolling Stone magazine and my Our Lips Are Sealed 7” picture disc that I only needed Belinda to Finish.
All the girls were very nice once again and they were happy to sign whatever was put in front of them. We couldn’t take photos during the signing however.
After the meet and greet was over Pinky and I were on a high! But we still had the full show to see!
While waiting we saw people even dressed up like the Beauty and the Beat album cover!
The Go-Go’s opened with This Town and never let up. I have to tell you, out of the seven to ten shows I have seen The Go-Go’s perform this was by far the best. It seemed like all of the girls were having a ball playing the Hollywood Bowl and I’m sure the 17,000 or so people who were there would agree.
During Vacation six drag queens dressed like The Go-Go’s in the video for Vacation came out and were awesome! It was a definite highlight of the show.
The energy in the audience was out of this world, I don’t think I sat down the entire show. Plus, we had awesome people sitting around us which always makes any concert even better.
Playing a healthy selection of songs from Beauty and the Beat including Skidmarks on My Heart, How Much More, Lust to Love, Automatic and Fading Fast. I was happy to hear Stuck in My Car from God Bless The Go-Go’s once again. I don’t think I’ve heard that live since The God Bless The Go-Go’s tour.
The interaction between the girls was playful, fun and at times adorable! Belinda Carlisle and Jane Wiedlin seemed to be having the time of their lives playing off each other and dancing around the large Hollywood Bowl stage.
All in all it was a fantastic evening and one I won’t soon forget!

Not rich, but this was well worth it! LOL… Plus, the concert was awesome!
