This weekend a little movie called The Hateful Eight had a q and a. It was on a Friday night and it was going to be a late night. I couldn’t get an RSVP, so I was going to have to wait outside. Doh. What can you do right?

The entire cast of the film was going to be there, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Dern, Tim Roth, Walton Goggins, and Michael Madsen are all scheduled to be here.

That’s a pretty impressive list to say the least.

When I got there I met up with Scotty and Chris who were already on the scene. It was pretty busy, I’m not going to lie. I mean, it’s the cast of The Hateful Eight!

Can I just tell you, it was cold, damn cold, the kind of cold that’s… well… only cold to people in Los Angeles. But I’m telling you to me, it’s damn cold and that’s all that really matters when you’re standing outside.

Scotty is bundled up like he has a babushka on his head, Chris on the other hand… Forgot a jacket? When they stand next to each other, it’s like a before and after picture.

Billy Beer isn’t here as he’s in Michigan, but he of course is calling for the play by play.

The Hateful Eight, I hear is amazing, but when you’re waiting in the arctic tundra of Los Angeles it’s a long film clocking in a around three hours. And there’s an intermission.

As time ticks out, some people start to drop… in the front. Doh.

Everyone is of course in the back and people try and run around, less than stellar spotters are claiming some people are inside, in fact someone spots Jennifer Jason Leigh supposedly. Keep in mind she’s the only female in the cast, it can’t be that hard to spot her right?

Like I said… Keep that in mind.

After a couple hours, we keep hearing that the cast is in.

Tim Roth however drops in the back. He’s so freakin’ nice.

He started at one end and signed down the line, he cracked jokes, was playing with people, and honestly, super cool. He signed so much I was even able to help some people in the back get some things signed.

He was really cool.

Then… Jennifer Jason Leigh dropped.

Her people said that, “She had to get inside.” And then hustled away, but he publicist then said, “She’ll sign after!”

One, I haven’t heard the best things about Jennifer Jason Leigh, but I was really hoping to get her on my Dolores Claiborne mini poster as well as my The Hateful Eight mini poster.

Second, how in the world can you not spot the only female in a movie? Like… How… How is this possible?

Then Bruce Dern drops and being the classic awesome guy he is, says, “I’ll take of you guys after!”

Sigh… I guess we shall see right?

The temperature has dropped about 10 degrees and it’s damn cold… I’m not feeling it to be honest, but you know… I’ve a little more pessimistic in my old age. lol.

Time was ticking down, and It was getting close to midnight, yet midnight, that’s how long we’ve been waiting. Sigh….

Then, finally… The q and a started to break. I was worried everyone was going to leave at the same time, thankfully Jennifer Jason Leigh was the first one out and sure as shit she came right on over.

She signed for everyone, and was quickly followed by Samuel L. Jackson, who was his usual self, but he again signed for everyone too.

I got Jennifer on my Dolores Claiborne poster as well as my Hateful Eight poster and then I got Samuel L. Jackson on my Captain America: The Winter Soldier character poster and my Hateful Eight poster as well.

Next was Kurt Russell. I love me some Kurt Russell. He’s… He’s fucking Jack Burton! how can you not love him? He walked back and forth looking for his car for a second and then came right to the end of the line and was signing for everyone and then saying, “you’re done.” I was fourth on the rail and asked him to sign my Big Trouble in Little China Chinese take out food counter box and he took a second to look at it, and then I sort of fanned out. LOL.

It’s fucking Snake man. Kurt was very nice to me and listened to me babble and also signed my Thing poster at the same time. Plus, I didn’t get the “You’re done.” So, I was happy with that.

Once Kurt was gone it was a bit of a flurry. Michael Madsen ran over and he wasn’t in the signing mood but still did it, I got him on my Hateful Eight poster and Walton Goggins ran over as well but only signed a little bit. I did manage to get him on my Hateful Eight poster as well.

Finally out came Bruce Dern who came right over like he promised.

His handler was a bit over the top, but he came to me first, and I had him sign my Big Love cast piece and we talked about the show for a hot second. Then he signed my Hateful Eight poster as well.

Scotty had my Nebraska hat that I already had Will Forte and June Squibb on.

As Bruce moved down the line he signed that one as well.

It was a pretty damn amazing night. I never dreamed everyone would sign and so much at that.

Kurt Fucking Russell and Samuel L. Jackson in the same night. Damn…
