The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies LA Premiere! Peter Jackson! Lee Pace! Richard Armitage! Evangeline Lilly! Orlando Bloom Disses! And More!
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies invaded Los Angeles!
Whew, and what a night. This was one of the biggest premiere’s to end the year with and the last premiere ever for the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit films. Man, it’s going to be a little nutty.
Billy Beer and Anthony held down the fort and I arrived to find the carpet going up.
It’s a nice afternoon and the crowds are not as thick as I would have imagined. I mean. There are plenty of nutty people here.
There’s one woman who is missing every other tooth screaming at people about how horrible they are… Ummm okay lady. Nothings even happening yet. Sigh… What can you do right?
You just laugh at the crazies and hope that they go away.
I’m actually surprised that there are not more people here dressed up. I expected cosplay central.
Billy Beer has finally shaved, which the world is thankful for.
Scotty has joined us now and we wait for the start of the The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies premiere!
They set up a large screen, so we can watch the action. And there’s an announcer as well, which is nice because it’s hard to pick out the dwarves from across two lanes of traffic.
There’s a man riding his bike and wearing what looks like an inside out shower curtain. He says, he’s a Hobbit killer. Sigh…
Sometimes I wonder if it’s easier to be crazy than sane? Sometimes I wonder if I’m only half sane, so there’s that too.
Arrivals are starting to heat up and they have passed out these cool flags!
Love it!
The first arrival! It’s Graham McTavish. He comes on over and starts signing. I have a mini poster for the film I’m going to get everyone on. I figure that’s the easiest thing to do.
I’ll be honest, the next few people were a blur. The guys who play the dwarves were all so awesome and all showed up one after another.
Then Mr. Andy Serkis arrived and everyone went nuts. The man is a machine. So nice. He signed up and down the line, and all the time smiling and laughing. Such a nice man.
I got him on my mini poster and on another mini poster as well.
Then Lee Pace arrives. He flew down the line and it was like a whirlwind. I wanted to tell him how much I enjoyed Pushing Daisies but man, that wasn’t going to happen. I did get him on my poster though, so that was cool.
And then original Lord of the Rings star Billy Boyd arrived and signed up a storm. Such a nice guy. He did a song for the new Hobbit film.
Evangeline Lilly was next and she was as nice as usual. I got her on my mini poster. She looked so cute!
Richard Armitage was the next arrival. He looked great! He came over and signed my mini poster and an Entertainment Weekly magazine I had as well. It was again really quick but he had a lot of ground to cover.
Then Orlando Bloom comes over. He starts at the end and stays really far back. He signs like one autograph, walks a few steps, signs another, walks a few steps, signs another… It was kind of ridiculous to be honest. I didn’t get him, Billy didn’t get him. It was kind of a cluster fuck, and he wasn’t being that cool.
He walked down the line but didn’t sign much at all.
Writer and producer of the films Philippa Boyens was next and she was happy to come over. I had her sign my Hobbit mini poster as well as my Lord of the Rings trilogy poster as well. So nice!
Finally, Peter Jackson arrived. Now, I’ve had the worst luck with Peter at the last premiere he flat out told me, no.. He wouldn’t sign my poster.
This time he came over and started with Billy. I asked him to sign (the same poster he said no to last year) and this time, he was happy to do it!
I was shocked! And this was worth going just to get Peter!
He signed quite a bit, I’ll be honest, he did a lot… He was picky, but he signed a lot.
Manu Bennett arrived and wouldn’t come over. He jumped on the carpet.
Now, I ran around to where the stars go in and was able to add Dean O’Gorman and yes Manu Bennett to my mini poster as well as Peter Jackson again!
I know!
Orlando Bloom looked at my poster… Twice but wouldn’t sign it… I’m like dude… Really?
Still… I had a great day and the mini poster looks awesome. It was a great way to celebrate the end of these great films and the fact I got two Peter Jackson’s was incredible…
Until next time kids…
