Poor Scotty! I feel so bad for him and the other people who went to this event! Jennifer Aniston was awarded a very prestigious and high honor… To get her hand and footprints immortalized in cement at the famed Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. Well, apparently security would not allow anyone they recognized at any other event to attend.
Now, I wasn’t there but I’ve heard that this is pretty common practice at hand and footprint ceremonies for some reason. It’s just a shame.
Check out Scotty’s first hand account of what happened after the jump!
Jennifer Aniston – Hand and Footprint Ceremony
Grauman’s Chinese Theatre – Hollywood, CA
After my Jennifer Aniston fiasco at the “Horrible Bosses” premiere, I wanted to get her signature again properly. My favorite films that Jennifer has done are “Object of My Affection” and “Along Came Poly.” I brought my “Object of My Affection” to the “Horrible Bosses” premiere. I was excited to possibly get Jennifer because I already had Paul Rudd sign it back in December at the “How Do You Know?” premiere. When Jennifer came across at the premiere, I was excited. As she got near me, mayhem ensued, and I had people putting things in front/on top of my “Object of My Affection.” Jennifer finally saw mine, grabbed it, looked at it and signed……RIGHT OVER PAUL RUDD! I was SO UPSET. She looked at it and could have signed anywhere. To add salt to the wound, it was a TERRIBLE signature. Grrrr….
Today, for her hand and footprint ceremony, I was hoping to get her on the cover of my “Object…” DVD. I also brought things for possible guests that may show. I brought something for Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and Matthew Perry. I was the first one on the scene. A few other collectors showed up a while later. Security told us if anyone wanted to be in the fan pit, that we needed to wait in a line at the end of the block. We all followed what they told us and patiently waited.
Before letting anyone in, security came over and pointed at all of the collectors and dealers and said we were not allowed to come into the area. Everyone there was shocked. None of us there were the troublemakers that they were most likely trying to avoid being in the area. We all felt very discriminated against, especially since there was barely anyone in the pit and they were offering spots to ANYONE AND EVERYONE just walking down the street. We are fans just like other people who enjoy meeting our favorite stars. The fact that we are able to come to these because we live close, doesn’t me we should not be allowed to be there. VERY DISAPPOINTING to be treated in this manner.
The ceremony started. Chelsea Handler and Jason Bateman came out and said a few words.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t hear as we were all across the street. Jennifer came out, and put her foot and handprints in the cement. She did not shake hands with the people in the pit or sign autographs.
She threw the towel that she wiped the cement off her hands to the fan pit.
We then saw security move to a hotel nearby and figured that Jennifer and company would be making their way there. We finally saw her SUV Town Car that she drove in pass by us. We all got excited, but could see that there was nobody in the back. The SUV drove into the hotel driveway. Another collector that was standing near the driveway saw her get out. We were all surprised and said that we didn’t see anyone in the back. We all knew at that point that she must have ducked to avoid being seen. Jennifer, who do you think has made you a star? It is your fans that want a quick signature. It was another disappointing day with Jennifer for me. Oh well…..Til’ next time.
