Lately premieres, have been so hit and miss! Dammit! I honestly didn’t have anything for Arnold Schwarzenegger I was dying to have signed. I mean, I have stuff… But I didn’t feel like spending an entire day waiting for him. I should be more clear I guess.
Billy Beer however has never got Arnold Schwarzenegger to sign anything for him. Doh! So, he’s out for another try. Another go if you will! Say that with an English accent! It’s fun! LOL…
Check out Billy Beer’s report from the premiere after the jump!
Welcome back to Billy Beer’s Barstool. Today we’re off to The Last Stand Premiere. Or as I like to call it, still trying to get Arnold Premiere. I’m 0-3 so far (I don’t count the book signing, cause I actually didn’t get the book signed. I waited in the lines and then had to go to work). Let’s just say I have a few bruises the last time I tried to get him. There are a few other people I’m interested in seeing too. Thor star Jaimie Alexander and Jackass star Johnny Knoxville are both supposed to be there.
I get to the Premiere a little bit late. C.B. and I went to try and catch Jessica Chastain before the Premiere. She was doing a couple of Q & A’s, and was nice enough to stop by and sign a few things for us. We stuck around in hopes of getting a picture with her, but I guess we couldn’t wait long enough. We headed to the Premiere. On the way there, we see Chris Pine walking out or a building. Seriously, I can’t make this stuff up. C.B. asks for a picture, but he actually declines…….for 2 people…..just a picture…..WOW!
When we finally get there, there are people standing where our bags are. Hmmmm, I try to be as nice as possible to the tourists buuuuuut, please move! I get my pictures boarded. I don’t have much. A movie poster, and 2 pictures of Jaimie (one for my sister). Finally I get bunkered in, and wait for the limos to arrive.
First to arrive is Luis Guzman.
I love the movie Waiting. You can sometimes tell how things are going to go by the first drop-off. Luis looks hesitant, but he finally makes his way over. He heads straight for me. I get my pen out and he grab it and signs my poster. C.B. gets a picture with him. Good start!
Jaimie Alexander was next to arrive. Kinda thought she would be here later, but time to get those pictures out.
Jaimie starts off a little bit to our right. She’s working her way to us, but looks like she’s going to stop. Which she does, but then skips over a few people, and walks right to us.
I had 2 pictures out, and gave my other picture to someone to help me out with.
She signs by us for a minute or so, and then goes to the red carpet. Got all three of them done Now all I really have to work on is my poster.
Some girl that shows up that we think is Genesis Rodriguez. We yell and yell, but she doesn’t come over.
Gene Simmons arrives, and we don’t even try. Unless you had a trail of $100 bills leading him over to us, he wasn’t going to sign.
The next person to arrive is Billy Blair? Not sure who he is, but he’s in the movie, so I have him sign my poster. I guess he’s listed as “Man in Orange Suit” Um, not sure if that was a good idea.
Rodrigo Santoro is next to arrive. He is super nice, and comes straight over to me.
I tell him I really liked 300, and then he signs my poster.
Daniel Henney is next to be dropped off. It was looking like our streak of crossers was about to end. But after a bunch of yelling, he finally made his way over. Another one for the poster.
To might right I start to hear a bunch of yelling. I hadn’t even noticed, but Bam Magera was signing and taking pictures with fans.
I was wondering if any of the Jackass people were going to make it. When he gets to us, I ask for a picture which he does, and then signs a blank for me. He’s a lot friendlier then I thought he would be.
Another attractive woman arrives…..OH! That’s Genesis! She comes over with all smiles.
She starts to our right, and then C.B. starts talking Spanish. This get’s her attention, and she comes right over. She signs my poster and then I ask for a picture. After we waited a minute for stupid people to get their pictures out of my face I finally take a picture. And of course I had my camera zoomed in, and got a picture of her eye. Thank goodness for wireimage!
Johnny finally arrives. It’s weird, cause he’s hiding behind things (I think he’s taking a smoke break).
Then the craziness starts. Arnold is about to arrive. All the security start making their way over to the barricades. Arnold steps out of his SUV, and is lead over to a section to our left. Then he proceeds to go the other way. I know I’ve said this before, but I truly believe security took him away from us. Everyone else on their own came straight to us. But when lead by security, it’s become a regular thing to bring them someplace else. You know, to the “real fans” who get there 15 minutes before, cause they’re walking on Hollywood Blvd, and didn’t even know what was going on, and had to be the 100th person to ask us what was going on, and didn’t even know who was in the film. THOSE “real fans”.
The funny thing was, while I was so focused on Arnold, I didn’t even realize that Johnny had started crossing the street, and was 5 feet from me. I quickly grab my pen and reach it out to him. He grabs it, and signs. Great spot! We keep yelling for Arnold, but HE’LL NOT BE BACK!
Peter Stormare is the last to arrive. I actually remember him from Entourage. He’s super cool and signs for whoever call over for him.
Crap, I got an almost complete poster, but no Arnold. I could wait and see if he’ll sign on the way out. But even though I didn’t get the Terminator, I got almost everything else I would have wanted (picture with Jaimie would have been nice too). Don’t feel like waiting. It’s time to go, it’s Happy Hour somewhere.
