Tron Legacy Pop Up Shop opening with Olivia Wilde, James Frain, and many more!

Let the Tron Legacy madness begin! With every big movie that comes out it seems like there is always a poster to get signed. Now, with a HUGE movie, such as Tron Legacy there are like… four posters to get signed. Lol… And they all rock! Kudos to whoever did the marketing for this movie, I mean it. Anyway, today is the grand opening of the new Tron Shop in Culver City. There are supposed to be cast members, including Olivia Wilde and True Blood star James Frain plus many more… or as any press release will say… AND MANY MANY MORE! I hope I’m not being too enthusiastic! Lol…

5:15 p.m. – I just got here… traffic to Culver City…. Not that bad actually I can’t even bitch! I want to… actually, I’m in a very good mood for no apparent reason, I have to pee and have a headache, but I’m in a good mood… go figure…

5:22 p.m. – Erica is here are there are about 10 collectors, some smell very ripe… Probably only one, but it lingers let me tell you. Erica just talked to me through my jacket holding it up to her face. I heard… “The Wolves are packing less brains artie heard.” I have no idea what that means, and yet I understand it. Go figure.

5:32 p.m. – I was hoping this wouldn’t be a late night, I was also hoping no one else would be here… but…

5:44 p.m. – I broke down and bought one of the Tron Legacy Identity Discs the other day at ElecTronica at Disneyland. It’s so cool. It glows blue and makes fun sound effects. Now of course I need it signed in a light blue paint pen… Don’t judge me…

5:47 p.m. – The first arrival… It’s Anis Cheurfa. Anis plays Rinzler the bad guy in the movie. He was so nice, he’s very new to the whole signing thing, and getting people when they are new is always fun cause they are happy to do it. Erica and I both got him on our posters, and he pretty much did anything anyone asked.

5:52 p.m. – We’re off and running. More and more collectors are joining us. It’s like everyone keeps multiplying… lol…

6:02 p.m. – Oh… There’s James Frain. Now a lot of you will probably know James Frain from season three of True Blood where he tormented Tara for most of the season before Jason staked him… Was that a spoiler? Hmmmm

6:07 p.m. – James comes right over but says he can only sign a few and has to go in. He gets Erica’s poster and then gets my poster. He does about 20 or so. He’s polite, but again he’s probably been bombarded lately from being on True Blood. Especially since Season 3 kicked ass!

6:15 p.m. – Someone just spotted Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski. We call out for him and he comes over. He’s not super social, but still signs quite a bit.

The interesting thing about Joseph is that Tron Legacy is his first movie. He started out shooting video game commercials. Erica and I both got him… So far so good. I’m being a little choosy on who goes on my identity disc. I want Olivia Wilde, Jeff Bridges, and Garrett Hedlund… in the aforementioned blue paint pen… lol…

6:22 p.m. – It is so damn cold… I really have to pee… Ugh…

6:23 p.m. – About five more collectors just showed up… sigh…

6:27 p.m. – Oh… There she is its Olivia Wilde. She’s looking over at us and looks a little scared.

6:28 p.m. – The whole crowd is inching closer and closer. Finally she comes over to the other end. Everyone is just piling crap upon crap in front of her face. Her people keep saying she’ll sign but don’t throw stuff in her face… No one listens… sigh… Erica is small, like four apples high and is getting buried in the fray.

6:29 p.m. – I got my poster in and ask Olivia Wilde to sign it. She looks over and I got a really nice signature from her. She then signs a few more before she gets pulled.

6:33 p.m. – Erica didn’t get her and she’s sad. I know that feeling, man… it sucks. She wants to wait for Olivia Wilde to leave… so I say okay…

6:38 p.m. – About ¾’s of the crowd has left. Sigh… It’s a tad calmer now…

6:49 p.m. – Erica spots Tron Legacy writer Eddy Kitsis. She calls him over and he is like the nicest guy ever. He signs and signs… He got both of our posters and did anything anyone asked him to do.

6:50 p.m. – Dude, Eddy Kitsis rocks!

6:54 p.m. – My poster is coming along… I wish Jeff Bridges was here… lol…

7:01 p.m. – Well, it looks like I’m not getting home before 7:00 p.m. damn… Oh Scotty just showed up. He got the new Disney magazine with the Tron Legacy people on the front of it. He looks a tad flustered. He drove like a mad man just to get here…

7:11 p.m. – A bunch of people left, and… I think that’s Olivia’s car… Okay, cross your fingers…

7:14 p.m. – The publicist for Olivia Wilde just came out and said she couldn’t sign because she has to get to a screening… Grrrrr…

7:15 p.m. – sure enough, out comes Olivia Wilde and she heads right to her car. Ah well… No Identity Disc signage today… It’s so fun though, it lights up!

7:17 p.m. – Beau Garrett is inside and comes out. We ask her to sign, and she says sure, but again the publicist pulls her away… dammit! Ah well, I can’t complain, I know Erica is disappointed, but I’m sure she will get her eventually. I had a good night, and my poster has five people on it, and it looks rad so I’m a happy camper. Even with the cold… lol… Now I have to find a place to pee!
