True Blood Season 6 Premiere! Ace Braves The Crowds & Meets Anna Paquin! Alexander Skarsgard! Sam Trammell! Rutina Wesley! Kristin Bauer! Carrie Preston! And Tons More! Autographs! Photos! Blood Sucking Goodness!
I was going through withdrawls this year. Each year the True Blood season premiere event marks the beginning of summer. This year I just couldn’t justify taking a full day off and dealing with the madness. And trust me. It’s madness…
However, getting texts from Billy Beer, Scotty, Ace, The Other Mike and more… It made me sad not to be there… Doh! I admit it… I was feeling left out. Ah well… There will be other events.
Ace had himself a fine time and braved the high tension, rapid fans and even a few werewolves! Check out his recap from the True Blood season 6 premiere!

What’s up autograph fanatics! Ace here with a recap of season 6 premiere of TRUE BLOOD!
I know all of you have been waiting for this recap! Aren’t you just as excited, as I am, for this new season coming out! Cross your fingers! This season WILL turn heads! Mark my words!
The day of the premiere was extreme MADNESS! MADNESS I TELL YOU! HA HA HA! (Evil Laughs don’t work through text). I did extremely well throughout the day… I will say that the day did not start off great… I just went through so much silly stuff in the morning; I could not take a single idiot today… I was hoping for the strength to not fight with people… I will tell you guys: I am a lover, not a fighter, but this hobby comes with both the good and bad… The premiere was just one of those days where they all come out…
Regardless, on to the recap! I get a call from Moz around 7 A.M. to get my behind down there… I call Mr. C urgently, give him a wake up call, and tell him we got to rush down to the event. Apparently, it was already getting crazy at seven in the morning. Well, I get there around 8:35 A.M. and of course, it was crazy already…
We quickly rushed in line and the sun was beaming down without mercy… We set up the chairs, get comfortable, and kick the can with a couple buddies… I saw Scotty within a short period of time… Almost as short as his articles… Quickly got acquainted and asked for a count of people while someone started to get on the defense of their territory… Regardless, I try to shake it off… Confrontation and irrational people don’t mix well with me…
Of course, the Mike the Fanboy family is already talking crap about my sweater…
(Editor’s Note: Justified crap! M-)
Throughout the day, we go back and forth joking around… especially about the meaning of words I had no clue existed… I am so glad some of the Mike the Fanboy family is educated about their fluffy professions. The Other Mike, DVD Dave, and Jack join in on the fun. I see other notable graphers like OTG John. I try to mingle with everyone.
We have so much time to kill when doing these events guys… It’s not even funny… In the nine hours, you can only do so much in one spot. Went to Walgreens, Amoeba, Jack in the Box, Newsstand… That only took up two hours tops…
SEM (security) got there really late… We were freaking worried for a decent amount of time… The barricades were not set up until four or five, therefore it looked like it was going to be a free for all… Within time, the barricades were set up and the mass of people lined up in order to fill the designated fan pit.
The carpet boomed with people within hours… It was only a thirty-minute time frame before we saw people get on the carpet to the fan pit to sign autographs!
Alan Ball was the first one to sign some graphs… He was pretty awesome… The publicist kept trying to keep everyone to one and he didn’t care… Totally awesome… He got the ball rolling!
(Editor’s Note: Pun intended? M-)
Lucy Griffiths was very disappointing… She seemed depressed and really didn’t have pride in what she was signing… Seemed slightly pompous and picky about what she signed… Oh well… At least she did it!
Dale Dickey was darling! She engaged with everyone, signed what you wanted… just wish that I brought my Super 8! Just made me like her even more!
Chris Bauer was BAD ASS! He was cheering the crowd… Signed whatever you put in his face… Went down the line along with the others and took their time… We had been trying to get him off the carpet for some time, so it was awesome that he was so fan friendly… Nothing better than a celebrity acknowledging fans while on the carpet!
Chloe Noelle was a sweet heart! Such a little girl but went down and tried signing for everyone… Even the security guards helping her out were cool!
Todd Lowe signed and signed away… Really nice and cool!
Lauren Bowles signed and signed away…
Anna Camp signed her life away!
Tara Buck came next!
Rutger Hauer… the one who got away… he claimed he would come to our section but never did… I will give him credit… HE SIGNED A LOT… kept going inside and coming back to sign. He said he would get to us, and after a while, it might have seemed like it to him… He signed his life away for the same three sections… I wanted him SO bad on Blade Runner… Oh well… Still amazing to his fans!
Carrie Preston signed and signed… really nice!
Rutina Wesley was strict with the one per person but she was nice.
Kristin Bauer is amazing! Just a gorgeous signature! She is one that takes pride in her signature… She did everything and anything you wanted… Just darling!
Michael McMillian was cool!
Deborah Ann Woll is gorgeous… Just saying… I am glad she came to our section first!
Alexander Skarsgard signed his life away… Took pictures… and made sure everyone got one only… I had never gotten him before so it was awesome!
Joe Manganiello… the second one who got away… Never came to our section… He felt bad I think when he screamed that at him… but who knows…
Ryan Kwanten… the one who never appeared…Where the hell was he? Never saw him…
Sam Trammell was really cool… I don’t think he liked that we put all our posters out… Seemed sort of out of it… He signed…but it seemed like he wasn’t totally feeling well or paying attention… I don’t know how to describe it… but it was like there was an element of carelessness
Janina Gavankar signed away! Signed in our section when some of the main skipped us!
Stephen Moyer skipped our whole section… It was heartbreaking! But, its part of the game!
Anna Paquin was awesome… While everyone got multiples, I am very happy with my one! She is so great in the show… I knew she was going to be the toughest one, so it was awesome to actually get her! I know last year she didn’t sign, so it was definitely an accomplishment.
Overall, it was AMAZING! The majority of the cast signed for everyone! I got a few of the major names. Majority of them did from one end to the other… Whenever you have a cast do Autograph Manifest Destiny, it just makes for a great day… Probably among the top ten premieres this year so far… I left right after arrivals to head to another premiere, which will debut on Mike the Fanboy later!
That is it for today! Hope you guys enjoyed!
Now, remember, there is always a graphing opportunity out there… You just have to find it. I wish you all the best!
Until Next time,
Ace, the Autograph Addict
Nice write up and haul there. Wow looking at that fan pit photo, I’m shocked anyone came over. Ryan Kwanten probably thought we were going to eat him.
Ryan kwanten is a douche! He’ll be begging people to let him sign once the show ends
Ace: Rutger skipped my section twice! Despite me holding up my Blade Runner lobby card 🙁 So I feel your pain and Joe was the same way. He was really being picky and choosy if you were a guy. He even said I want to take care of my REAL FANS first after handing out his stupid stickers. As for Ryan, he totally dissed leaving the premiere after looking at all of us who called out for him. Only Nelsan Ellis (who didn’t sign on the way in) came over besides Chris, Janina, Todd Lowe, Michael M., and a few other minor actors.
Overall, that day was fun, but crazy. A few fights broke out near my end with some girls/dealers cursing after some pushing when Stephen Moyer and Anna showed up. For the most part, the cast was really generous, but at one point Kristina, Carrie and Rutina were all signing almost on top of each other. It was almost one or the other as they tried to rush cast members inside. There was maybe a 30 minute window for autographs before so if you got most of the main cast you did really good!
Just cracks me up when I hear of people getting to these premieres literaly at the crack of dawn and yet they still miss people. Glad you enjoyed yourself ACE and a good write up as usual. BUT why people get to these premiere’s early when it’s not necessary is beyond me. Especially when its a nice cast, with the exception of Ryan Kwanten.I got to the premiere at around two and with the exception of Paquin, who racked at afterparty, and Allan Ball, who stopped short of my section but I got him when the premiere broke, I got the same people plus Moyer, Manganiello and Hauer and the same quantity these die hard early birds did. I lucked out with Hauer and when I saw Lucy Griffith was ony signing her first name I right away asked he to sign a full signature, which she did. Ace, you also missed Nelsan who was there. And like I said the afterpart was the bomb with Moyer and Paquin racking for maybe 15 people total.
I tell you if it wasn’t for the black sheep Ryan Kwanten we would all have completed cast posters!
Again, glad you still enjoy this hobby Ace. However I just dont understand the logic in getting to these premieres really early when it isn’t necessary.
Thanks for the mention and am looking forward to a writeup on Hatchet 3.
Okay, I have to take issue with something that OTG John stated. He belittled the fact that some fans got there early while he got the same graphs. John also went on to say how they racked for him at the after party. You say you got to premiere at 2:00 and I know that no one came out of the after party until after midnight. That means you put in TEN hours minimum. Sure, I was one of the fans who got there early. But I left after arrivals, John. That means I put in about 9 hours tops. What is difference between the time you put in and the time I put in? I hate the fact that people are arriving earlier and earlier to these things as well. But sometimes that is the price you have to pay. Glad you got your after party goodies, but while you were waiting for hours there I went to Hatchet 3 premiere down the street and racked the cast there AND was home snug in bed by the time you were getting your first Sookie of the night.
Great poster!! Maybe Sam was sad that Pinky wasn’t there to see him?
10 hrs? U better love that show and be framing that….I really need to see if I like this show. Just can’t get into the Twilight type shows yet as so many to catch up on. Great job Ace…
DVD Dave.
There is a differance. Yes I put in 10 hours BUT all the time was spent in the afternoon and evening. During the earlier part of the day you can do other errands other than using that time just waiting for a premiere. Once it’s after 6 and especially from 9 pm and onwards, there’s not much you can do but graph. 9 hours tops? BUT you still went to another event. What about the couple of hours you spent there? Same thing.
Hatchet 3? Pleezzzz! Never heard of the film and it’s probably going directly to video. However I am glad you and Ace can get a thrill from movies like this.
And Dave, it’s not like I go out everyday/everynight doing this. I come out maybe once a week so I can afford and mess with an event 100%, on arrivals up until the afterparty.
My comment on people arriving earlier and earlier was just that it isn’t necessary. My main point was that someone who arrived much latter got the same people/quantity. So why continue and do it?
Dave it’s all good.
Susan, Pinky saw Sam latter at the afterparty.
Yeah I was reading John’s response and thought… He put in the same time too. The premier you know most are going to do it. The after party is always a toss up and many people don’t know where the party is. Anyways I had a lot of fun hanging out with everyone for the day. I also would rather be out earlier then later. I hate not getting what I need and having to wait and beg for the exits. I’m glad this has only happened a few times for me.
Hatchet 3? Pleezzzz! Never heard of the film and it’s probably going directly to video. However I am glad you and Ace can get a thrill from movies like this. DAMN WHAT A DICK ! obviously not a true grapher, doesn’t know who is in Hatchet 3, then makes a comment like that… Anyone smell dealer?
You are joking Dodger? I haven’t heard of Hatchet 3, so am I a dealer and not a true grapher. OTG John is not a dealer and is a true collector so don’t insult people if you don’t know them.
