TV Heartbeat! Debuts for Blunt Talk and Fear the Walking Dead! Farewell Falling Skies!

The two members of the world’s best bromance are on TV this week with a pair of comedies! Sir Patrick Stewart’s Blunt Talk and Sir Ian MacKellen’s Vicious are both premiering this week!

In Blunt Talk, Patrick Stewart stars as Walter Blunt, a British newsman ready to take over the American cable news world. Executive produced by Seth MacFarlane, this comedy debuts on Starz this week.

Starz is pairing Blunt Talk with the returning Survivor’s Remorse which is about a young basketball star and his quick rise to fame. This show also has a heavy-hitter name producer who may know a thing or two about basketball —LeBron James.

Counting down the days until The Walking Dead returns in October? Well, you don’t have to wait quite so long with the debut of Fear the Walking Dead! The pulpy-titled “companion show” to The Walking Dead makes its long-awaited debut this Sunday. AMC will whet fan’s appetites for walkers with a new episode of Talking Dead which previews season 6 of The Walking Dead. That’ll be followed by the premiere of Fear the Walking Dead. This show will take place in LA and begins at the outset of the zombie outbreak. We’ll get 6 episodes for this first season and then the 6th season of The Walking Dead will start. But fear not, Fear the Walking Dead has already been renewed with double the episode order for next season.

Also on TNT, Public Morals makes its debut. This is a 1960’s crime drama starring Ed Burns and produced by Steven Spielberg. Ed Burns is on the law enforcement side, dealing with gambling, prostitution and several Irish mob factions. Plenty of drama here…

Health Check

Heroes Reborn hasn’t aired yet, but NBC is hopeful they can bring the show back for more. This “mini-series” has 13 episodes (which really sounds more like a season to me, but whatever) and will conclude with an opening for more. NBC really wants a superhero show so let’s see if Heroes time has come again!

Crystal Ball

A couple of months ago saw Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman in a Lifetime original movie, Grace of Monaco. That was sort of by accident since the movie couldn’t find a distributor until Lifetime picked it up.  Now we have word that Oscar-winner Anne Hathaway is moving to TV, but this time it’s on purpose! The A-List movie star is set to produce and star in a limited-series adaption of the book, The Ambassador’s Wife. The book in inspired by Jennifer Steil’s real-life experience as the wife of the British Ambassador to Yemen. This is still in the early stages so no network or premiere date has been announced yet.
